You where proud to own it. This unit lack the deeper range of sound, likely because it is relying on a self powered subwoofer to provide that. i have good speakers, which on my old somy receiver with failing audio channels had great bass. The over all audio quality is actually acceptable, in the tweeter and mid ranges. It sounds good enough with tv and music, it just does not hit well on any of the bass qualities. There is no bottom out, little distortion as you go up the audio range. In general it sounds really quite alright. I am pondering just fixing my old receiver also a Sony and reusing that for my home theater system,

While we're glad you like the overall audio quality of the unit, we regret to know that the bass response did not meet your expectations. You can adjust the bass level from the menu to ensure you're getting the optimal bass quality from your subwoofer. You can also enjoy the higher-fidelity sound from all inputs using the Pure Direct function. When the Pure Direct function is on, the display panel is turned off to suppress noise that affects sound quality. For more details, please refer to this link.

The price was a bit hight but I guess they have to make their money. I do feel like the size is a bit big and is hard to fit with all the other smaller components. I don't know how it works to much since there is so much to read in the instructions.

A Great Step Up!

We run our audio and video through this receiver into our televisions and the improvement is tremendous even using old analog speakers. The unit is relatively compact, it was easy to set up, and it is easy to use.

I waited till a Black Friday sale and bought this one. It greatly improved my tv experience and I love the additional features. I love the Bluetooth feature so I can listen to music using all of the speakers in the basement.

I don't even have to touch my remote. The tv comes on and so does the receiver and the sub. It sounds great. i can even hear birds chirping in a movie like they were outside. Great sound

I only wish it had an equalizer function. The preset for the speakers need to be tweaked for the voice mode.

I’d stick with smaller speakers next time as it doesn’t have enough power for my big front speakers. A side from being a little under powered in the front stage, it’s a great receiver.
