No ice entry level AVR

Good but two small issues I encountered!

It will recognize it during calibration but won't play at all unless you are on the Youtube app. Also, the tv volume will not syn with the receiver audio control (I have an OLED Sony tv) They are usually 4-8 units apart. The image quality is outstanding! Note: I tried to play with the setting, read the manual, and I could not make the subwoofer work at all!

Thank you for the review and It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. You should verify first that the subwoofer is enabled in the Speaker Pattern (SP) settings. If a pattern that ends in .0 is selected, the subwoofer will not work. Connect one end of the audio cable to the subwoofer audio input connector. Very lightly tap on the center conductor of the other end of the cable. If the subwoofer is powered on and adjusted properly, you should be able to hear a thumping sound on the subwoofer. If you do not hear a thumping sound then there is a possible service issue with the subwoofer. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope you will consider Sony again in a future purchase.

I switched them out and put the 790 on my media surround sound as it has more features. Great price & super easy to operate.

Easy setup, awesome sound

I had another sound system but wanted to simplify, with one remote access. You still need the other remote for sound adjustments. But the more I get used to the system, I don’t adjust.

Looked up some forums and no solution. I have to rely on digital optical. Other that that it works great and push out decent power.

It is not the most powerful receiver but works great in small to medium sized rooms. It supports 7.1, 5.1, 5.1.2, you name it. Setup is simple and sounds great. This receiver is simply great!
