It’s just not as good as the old dream. Doesn’t have the same sound sound quality, regardless on how much you adjust the settings. When you watch a great action movie…the sound is top notch! But when you’re watching plain old dialogue shows…like say YouTube, or sports…it’s very hard to find the right sound mode to match & get that dialogue clear. With the older dream system you left it on cinema b, or c….boom…great for everything with premium sound. Would’ve thought a newer system would be superior since it’s new tech

This model has been just what I expected and I have had no problems with it. Install was easy and it sounds great!

Running five surround sound plus a center, two side, and a subwoofer with no issues and good volume. FM reception reasonable. Was able to tune in SiriusXM with ease and it sounds good. It switches between Uverse (cable/sat) and BD/DVD with no issues, also radio. It plays no better than my 15-yo Sony but I had to upgrade because I needed a home theater receiver with HDMI pass-throughs.

Wasn’t What I thought It would be

I hoped I would love it like Sony receivers from the past. I do not. It’s not user friendly and I am quite tech savvy. I don’t like it’s interface, it’s 2021 and you still have to do most of the settings through the little lcd display on the receiver instead of an onscreen menu. Very annoying. The system is also rather annoying to just get straight direct auto formats from sources. Gotta adjust everything to finally get Dolby Atmos to actually be output from an Atmos source. And then change everything again when getting straight DTS from something else. Not user friendly at all. I guess it would be good for purest that want to change everything all the time but I like getting the direct audio from the sources they way they weren’t meant to sound. I don’t like having the system do a bunch of effects to it. Maybe I’m a minority there but I expect a much better experience from Sony. Very disappointed. Sony has really let their quality go down hill in my opinion. Making great products but always having stupid features that ruin the whole thing, like their 4K blu ray player. You ether have Dolby Vision always on or not at all. Why no Auto HDR mode like every other player? Sorry Sony. I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore of your products. I returned this and got another Onkyo.

I purchased this as a gift but it works great.

There are many similar units on the market but this system is a little more easy to navigate than some other manufactures models.
