A bit pricey but you get what you pay for!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, let me preface this review with the fact that I already had a great set of gaming headphones and really didn't need these but I was intrigued with the Lightsync feature. I also like that you can switch between USB (PC) input and 3.5mm audio jack input. There is a switch on top of the left earcup to switch between the two. Of course with 3.5mm you don’t get all of the features of these headphones that G Hub gains you with it in USB mode. Out of the box I was very pleased with the way the fit on my head. The earcups are very soft with cloth covers so they should last longer than vinyl coated covers that tend to powder and rot after a few years. They aren't terribly heavy but for my head (which is a little large) they are a bit snug and might cause me trouble for extended gaming sessions. I also like the mike boom that swivels down or tucks nicely into the left earcup. Another “feature” that has me scratching my head is the removable panels on the earcups. They are held on by magnets and I suppose if you want to 3D print your own covers that might be a nice feature but… still scratching my head. The 7.1 surround sound has great range. Using Logitech’s G Hub software adds tweaking capability along with other controls covered later. G Hub allows you to adjust more than just output and mic input levels along with sidetone (mic feedback to the earpieces… aka echo). There are also check boxes for noise removal (note this is not noise cancelling), enabling surround sound (with volume control for each channel), and DTS mode. There is a tab to set your equalizer with 32 to 16KHz slidebars or simple bass and treble adjustments. Like I said, lots of tweaking capabilities! Now the two items that I don’t care for… RGB lighting and programmable buttons. Since the headphones are on my head I can do without the RGB lights. You can’t see them when they are on your head… duhhhhh! Now maybe with some added brightness you can use them to add some ambient lighting if you game in a dark room. I can take it or leave them. Now onto the programmable buttons. Fortunately all of the buttons are on the left earcup and not split between the two earcups. I guess they are great if you use them for on the fly adjustment of sound. There are over a dozen pre-programmed commands to adjust sound. I think I might use buttons to mute audio input and output. I do love the volume wheel on the left earcup. It does take some practice to locate it but it’s pretty intuitive. But you can use them as custom in game commands, macros and even system commands like cut and paste. Honestly blindly reaching for a button on my headphones while working or playing just doesn’t seem practical. In my personal opinion they perform great and are a good value for the just under $140 MSRP.

Decent but comfortable Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used and tested out many gaming headsets in the past year or two and these are another pair to grace my desk. Comfort wise they're quite nice. There's a little flexibility in the band but not much so if you have a larger noggin these may not be for you. I've got a fairly above average melon and these were comfortable. The ear cups are over ear and the leatherette on them does seem to have a good amount of breathability. They weren't sweaty after having them on for a couple hours which is always a plus. There's plenty of adjustment for the ear cups as well. The Mic on these isn't bad at all. It picks things up quite well. I have a mechanical keyboard with Cherry Red MX RGB switches and you could hear them but they weren't overbearing. I do wish there was an inline control on the cable for the Headset. It does include a Y adapter to connect to the Mic/Headphone jack on PC's. They will work on pretty much any platform since they have your standard 3.5mm connector. Sound wise they aren't bad, though they're not the greatest either. I prefer more low-end in my headsets and headphones. To me there just seems to be too much in the mids so a lot things seem muddled. There's plenty of highs though. I wouldn't recommend them for listening to music. For gaming they should be more than fine though. Still, you may want something with a more encompassing soundstage. The next model up the 432's do have 7.1 and have a USB dongle to use on PC or Console so that may fill the gap a bit better. For less than $60 they're a decent option for a gaming headset. If you have a Best Buy location nearby and they have some out on display, give them a listen and see what you think.

Great headphones for new gamers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are new to gaming, these are a great wired headphone to get you started. Logitech consistently delivers products that are well built and deliver on their specs, these headphones are no exception. In the box are the headphones, a y-splitter, and a quick start guide. The headphones themselves are lightweight yet solid enough to endure daily use. Logitech met my expectations by building these with leatherette ear pads and a soft foam head band. The microphone swivels up and out of the way when not needed, after 2 weeks of use I'm happy to report that the headset sizing and microphone stay where I place them. The volume scroll is on the left ear and easy to find / adjust. Additionally, there is a companion app to install, the G Hub, this was an easy install on a Win10 laptop. I tested these headphones for games, music and conference calls. I find that the drivers deliver the expected sound for this level of headphones. If you are expecting to hear every nuance in a game or a full spectrum audio depth, these aren't for you, but you won't get that in any headphone in this price point. The sound is crystal clear, as is the microphone pickup. During games and meetings my colleagues said that the microphone did pick up some of my louder background noise, and that I sounded clear, just distant. After playing around with mic distance most of the feedback was that my mic was good, no one complained they couldn't hear me or that I was always yelling at them. Overall these headphones are a great place to start, they will help you figure out what your preferences are - wired vs wireless, over head band vs not, ear cups material, etc. These also make a good gift for teens, as the styling and quality are better than expected for price point.

USB/Connection problem
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good headset, but they have a usb connection problem where after a few months they start disconnecting/making static noises. Im guessing the wireless ones dont have this problem. Only recommend if you really have no other option.
