    After some customization

After some customization of the settings using the app, the headset works great. Never had issues with battery draining too quickly. Use mostly for COD Warzone and even though the sound in the game itself needs to be fixed, the headset allows me to hear exactly where shots and footsteps are coming from. The surround does work excellent. Switched from Steele Series Arctis 7 and this headset is leaps and bounds better out of the box... but becomes the ultimate best you can get once you customize the settings in the app. Overall, I highly recommend this headset and spend the time to customize.

Ive already owned the A40s previously and knew the quality. These take my xbox gaming to a whole new level. When playing warzone the game is partnered with dolby to enhamce your experience. With these headphones you can hear the rustle of leaves when you are near a bush, or accurately track footsteps from significant distances. Battery life is great. Ive yet to have them die during the middle of a match. Mic quality is on point. Not overly sensitive. For xbox and pc its pure plug and play. With the toggle of a switch you can go between pc and xbox. All in all a great product.

This headset sounds amazing and is super comfortable but has a couple small issues. You have to make sure you set it just right on the charging base or it won't charge and more than I would care to experience so have to flip it from Xbox mode to pc mode and then back to get the Xbox to recognize it.

I had originally picked these up for the new PS5 since I wanted something new to wear instead of wearing the Astro A40’s. I definitely had to test them and I’d honestly say these will be my new favorite pair of headset, the comfort and the sound quality is always up to par. Plus this is definitely easy to set up and you won’t have to worry about those silly cords no more. Would definitely recommend you pick up a pair for the new generation

Overall these are probably the best sounding headphones on the market. The Dolby Atmos gives this an incredible immersive experience that you won’t find with other gaming headphones. My only problem with these headphones is the charging base, because they don’t actually charge them sometimes. For hardware with this price tag, I expect it to do everything it advertises exceptionally well. Sometimes I leave my headphones on the charging station overnight and realize they are still “buffering” trying to charge in the morning. Some days it doesn’t register them at all and I have to really finagle them to be in the right position. Not a deal breaker but it is annoying, especially for headphones this prestigious. Now I just plug them in to charge and save myself from annoyance. Other than that, if you are a serious gamer, buy these. The sound quality is so good that you’ll be able to look passed it’s minor issues. I use them every day, for at least 8 hours a day, and wouldn’t trade them for another brand.

A few Tips for new users, Xbox Series X/S owners.

Initially I wasn't impressed with these, but later had a change of heart.. Below is my experience and a couple of tips to maximize this headset to its full potential, mainly on new Xbox Series Consoles. First off, the basic EQ settings are garbage for my liking. Sounds were muffled and unclear. Out of the box, the bass sounds like it is hitting under water, and mids and highs lacked clarity. What changed my opinion? The Astro Command App for consoles and PC . This app allows for firmware updating and most importantly EQ adjustments. You can create your own custom profiles and save them to one of three spots that save to the headset itself. The App is a necessity if you are going to get these. I nearly returned them, regardless of how comfortable they were, or how easy they were to use. I'd recommend getting the app installed before doing any gaming, primarily to ensure they latest update is installed for Xbox Series S/X consoles. The latest firmware allows for USB support due to lack of Optical port on the consoles. But... With that said, here is another tip to enable true Surround Sound support without buying their 40$ Optical adapter box (which also limits you to 4k@60fps). The headset comes with a short optical cable, so you may need a longer cable to do this depending on where your headset base is located. First, plug the optical cable into your TV using Optical Out port, then plug it into base station where it says Opt-IN. After that, you will need to set the TV up for Bitstream Out. This is usually found in the Settings menu. On my LG OLED for instance, I can set Bitstream Out along with maintaining my speaker function. There are 4 or 5 options on those TVs, so choose what works best for you. Now that the TV is set up to send a signal to the base station, it's time to go into the Xbox Settings and set the console to Bitstream Out. This is necessary in order for the console to send the proper signals VIA HDMI to the TV. Once the TV gets the signal, the sound is directed to Bitstream Out thus enabling the Dolby Surround Sound function as if your Xbox had a n Optical Port still like previously generations had. Tried to simplify the process down as best I can, so Hopefully there is no confusion. Hope this helped.

Solid Headphones But Pricey and Now Don't Work

When I bought these, I was replacing this version before. The build quality on these headphones are top of the line - and they should be for the price. I was a little disappointed when I found that the "little things" that I enjoyed on the previous version simply weren't as good on these. I primarily use them for COD games and footsteps. Far too often the voice from my friends in the chat were overbearing and the footsteps weren't NEARLY as good as the last version. I've made many, MANY changes in the app and updated the firmware and defaulted them to the original settings. All with no luck. And to be honest, the Dolby option is worse than the non-Dolby. AND THEN THERE'S THIS - MS DECIDED ON THE XBOX SERIEX X TO REMOVE THE OPTICAL INPUT!!! Why would they do that? That's not a knock on the Astros but it literally renders my $300 headphones to nothing more than a comfortable well-built pair of $30 headphones. At least Astro got a firmware update to allow them to "work" over USB. But the sound now is AWFUL. Thanks, MS!

    Great audio!

The audio is second to none. Build quality beats turtle beaches every which way! The pitfalls are potential dealbreakers for some, though. The boom mic could be a little more receptive. My teammates often tell me I need to speak louder because the mic tends to not pic up my voice. I've never had that issue with my old turtle beaches. Also, the button that switches game audio and chat audio kinda sucks. It's hard to find a medium between game and chat volume. When I press one side of the button, it tends to go all the way to that side. Meaning, if I try to increase game volume and decrease chat volume by one click, the headset goes full game volume and no chat volume. Same thing happens when I hit chat volume. I have to play with it for a few seconds to get it to work as it's supposed to. Those two reasons alone could be deal breakers for some. For me, i dont mind it so much. The audio and build quality really are the best on the market though. One suggestion I would love them to improve would be to make this bluetooth compatible. I'd love to be able to use these with my phone to watch stuff on while I'm not near my xbox.

So I was going to give this headset 4 stars as it was missing one crucial element, a chat/game mix option like I have on my wired Astro A40's. Well come to find out (it's not super prominent in the manual), they do have this feature! There is a chat / mix button that is the whole side of the earcup. It's labeled game and chat but it's hard to see unless you look for it. So now these are, in my opinion, the best wireless set out there for general gaming. Sounds are awesome, fit and build is great, mic up to mute is handy, and the re-charging dock is awesome! Highly recommended!

Best gaming headsets in the market. Even though they’re pricey, the product will last years if taken good care of. I’ve had some old gems for 5 years, upgraded to new ones because the volume button eventually got worn out after frequent usage and it was time for new ones. Game and chat Audio sound great, perfect for shooter games and can easily detach footsteps. A new feature that stood out was the wireless stand. I leave my PS4 on rest mode and the headset charges through the night. Don’t think twice, get them! Lasts hours!! Where we dropping boys??

As a OG Astro A40 owner and user It was time to make the jump to wireless. I tried the SteelSeries Arctis Wireless Pro because everyone said they were the best. After trying them for 15 minutes I put them back in the box and exchanged them for these Astro A50s and never looked back. I think they sound better, they are WAY more comfortable. The only 2 issues that I wish was difference, I wish the mic was removable and I wish the batteries were removable. Other than that its great.
