However, one of the HDMI ports did not work on the unit I bought. I ended up returning it when I found a Dell ultrawide monitor with USB C and a USB hub.

Posted .It is possible the computer you are using does not support the required features of the JCD543 to perform it's best and therefore, one of the HDMI monitors did not display for you; in this case, we highly recommend contacting the support team on the packaging and someone will be happy to assist in find you a device that will work.

No sound from second monitor but I doubt it’s this dock causing that. Will look into specific drivers to rule it out.

Posted .If possible, to test another HDMI cable to display or another monitor/TV. You may also do an uninstall and reinstall of the drivers. Update any available updates for your computer through the website of your computer's manufacture brand.

Good Port Replicator/dock

Port replication is good. I have had no issues under either Windows or macOS with large screen external monitors.

Heats up extremely high so the feature of using it to lay your laptop is not a good idea. Every port drops connectivity as some point. Today it might be the internet while you're doing a video meeting. Tomorrow when you start up, one of your monitors doesn't come on - unplug and replug, back to work. Do not recommend. Get what you pay for with this one.

Works great faster than my other docking stations

Posted .Krstngt, Due to the hybrid nature of the JCD543, not all computers will allow full functionality. The computer needs to support Thunderbolt 3/DP alt-mode for video output; otherwise, you may be limited to how many monitors you may use with the dock. If you are welcome to suggestions for a different model, please contact us at your earliest convenience as we believe the JCD381 may be a good fit for your needs.
