The JCD543 does offer a lot of ports. Its primary feature is to give your laptop the ability to connect to three external monitors. It is also designed for your laptop to sit on top of the dock to save space in your work area.

I can personally attest to the quality of this docking station. While I do not recommend it, I have dropped it off my desk and it still worked. The metal door that opens to the compartment where the host cable is attached will rattle a little, but the docking station is solid. We appreciate your feedback, and I hope that I have helped allay your concerns about the docking station.

I am trying to return this item, but have not yet been able to get hold of someone at the company. I replaced it with the smaller docking also made by j5create that connects to the 2 power input ports on the side of my MacBook Air.

Posted .The USB-C Triple Display Docking Station requires an available USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0 features. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device. The Dock will also require an installation of a driver for the VGA, Mic and stand alone HDMI port for functionality. The power adapter allows pass-through charge to the host device and additional power to the USB ports for high-powered USB device when it's connected to the USB-C power-in port on the Dock.
