You Get What You Pay For

I should know better than to buy cheap peripherals like a mouse, keyboard, or docking station. It interferes with Wi-Fi network connection when using this as a powered docking station. I guess its firmware presumes that if it is providing your computer with power, it is also providing your computer with network connectivity through its ethernet port. My problem is, my desk is on the other side of my office from my ethernet port. Without an ethernet connection, all it is good for is unpowered USB-A and HDMI expansion. You can buy a top-of-the-line expansion dock for half the price of this unit. So, unless you plan to use hard-wired ethernet, you should pass on this docking station.

Posted .The JCD543 does not come with a power adapter. The JCD543P, however, does come with a power adapter. JUP2290 100W PD USB-C Super Charger, can also be purchased separately and goes with the JCD543 USB-C Triple Display Docking Station. This device requires an installation of a driver, as well as a feature called DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0. Those features must be supported by a computer. We appreciate you for sharing your review and feedback. The docking station does not require the external charger. The charger is primarily for powering your laptop. One of the display connections requires that the USB-C port that the docking station is plugged into has a hardware feature called Display Port Alternate Mode. Have a good day.

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this docking station for over a year on a macbook pro with dual 32inch 4k displays. The last few driver updates for Big Sur and Monterrey introduced a new driver that does not allow for "screen rotation" on macos. I stack my monitors vertically. The other issue i have with this docking station is that after a few days, the macbookpro will just lockup and won't do anything until i have to hard reset by holding the touchid button. I then have to reconfigure my display settings, where applications need to go etc. It is very time consuming and annoying. When this first came out it was great, now it is terrible. Already put in for a replacement from another vendor. To bad, J5 has created some great products over the years.

Posted .You may want to try and uninstall the j5 drivers completely and then reinstall the drivers again. Please make sure to have the j5 device disconnected from your computer.
