I purchased another one a few months ago that worked fine till one of my monitors displayed a pink background, the dual adaptors I purchased didn’t work either. I took a chance with this one. I did have to download drivers for it to work with my MacBook though.

One USB-C connection to my laptop and I can connect to keyboard, mouse, up to 3 monitors and network connection if you want a wired connection.

It would go work and then stop supporting both monitors. I determined the driver for the product was not updated for the M1Pro chip so I returned it. It’s probably a decent device, just needs to be updated for the newest systems to work properly.

Posted .The HDMI or DP ports are PnP, no driver required. The HDMI and VGA, requires a driver. Please uninstall and reinstall the drivers without the Dock connected. Text with another video cable. ** Feel free to contact j5create Technical Support if you require further assistance.

I had to return this because it did not have enough HDMI ports and other important ports needed for cameras and other laptop. Did not get to use this because it was returned.

We’re really happy with it. The only hesitation we have is that we don’t know if it’s the docking station or if something is defective in our new laptop because the USB port the docking station was connected into became defective and is not recognizing at of the connections after almost a month’s worth of use. We’ve exchanged the docking station for a new one exactly the same. Time will tell.

Stop carrying these until properly supported

I've spent $200 the last month on multiple J5 docks for my 2019 Macbook Pro at the suggestion of your in-store sales people. NONE of them work properly with Big Sur. Call J5 support and they tell you they'll put you on a mailing list for when their developers get around to it. Called them this morning and their response is "roll back to Catalina and it will work". If you're going to continue selling product that doesn't work as promised at least put a disclaimer on it stating "does not work with current operating platforms". Stop wasting your customer's time and money selling product that doesn't work as advertised. Third trip to the store and multiple support phone calls with Total Tech support and I just ended up buying two Type C to HDMI connectors so I have something reliable. I'm not asking for out-of-the-box solutions. I just want to connect 2 monitors to a Mac....

We regret to hear your frustration with the docking station. The Big Sur operating system is significantly different than previous versions of MacOS and new drivers need to be created from the ground up. Our developers are actively working on the updated drivers. There will be a notice on the j5create website once the drivers are released. As our customer support agent mentioned the JCD543 is still compatible with MacOS 10.8 to 10.15 and Windows 10. We appreciate your patience.

Great Docking Station - But Get the Proper Driver!

It's not cheap but totally worth it if you have multiple accessories plugged into your laptop and then take the computer home or to the office every day. Time and effort saver not having to unplug and re-plug all those accessories over and over.

MAC Users BEWARE - Not Compatible w OS BigSur

That said, it feels like it has the durability of a child's toy. For the price I was happy with it. However, after owning it for just about 45 days, my MacBook automatically updated to macOS BigSur Version 11.0.1. This made this Docking Station obsolete in the span on one hour. j5Create states on the website and in customer service that no drivers are avail to correct this and no timeline is given to correct it at the moment. I would check whether this is avail before buying.

As of 12/07/2020 we currently do not have drivers compatible with Big Sur. We are currently working on the driver software, but do not have an ETA. Regarding the durability of the JCD543 we have done extensive impromptu drop testing on the dock here in the office and have not yet broken it. I would not recommend testing this at home, but I believe that the JCD543 would survive an incidental fall.

OMG How did I live without this?

The ease of just plugging in one cord when locating the laptop is so awesome, rather than plugging in monitor, audio, network, wireless mouse, etc. It has a very low profile and raises up the laptop perfectly, giving it a bit more space to bring cooling air in and easier to type on.

Easy to set up on a Windows Latitude running Windows 10 Pro. The wedge design is nice to set laptop on to elevate and does not have to be used that way if it is not the desired set up.

Only one of the monitor ports worked. It could have been user error but I attempted to figure it out for a week. I eventually just hooked one up to the device and the other to the laptop. Sub ports work :) Anyway I guess it can work for something other than multiple monitors
