The problem is that the documentation could have been more clear. Very specifically, I didn't realize that I needed to plug in the hidden cord into my laptop. I also didn't see clear documentation on the recommended power supply.

Doesn't work with the M1 processor

I asked him twice because I wanted to be sure before I got the item home. Well, guess what? It does not work with the M1 processor. What a waste of time - had to return it.

Posted .Hello, unfortunately, the HDMI/VGA and Mic ports on the Docking Station will not be compatible due to the driver installation and will only work for computers running the Intel processor. Respectfully, j5

My workspace transitions seamlessly using the usb-c thunderbolt connection. It has no power cord as it draws its power from the laptops. Best docking station i've ever owned.

Affordable docking station.

AND for a fraction of the price. You still need to have a power cord for your laptop but it gives the capability of a docking station by allowing your laptop/pc to connect to various monitors/devices seamlessly.

But did not realize at the time of purchase that the driver that needs to be installed does not support the new M1 chip from Apple. Due to this incompatibility it does not work consistently. I am hoping that J5create will soon have a driver that will support the M1 chip.

Posted .Hello, the only ports that will not work on the Dock is HDMI/VGA next to each other and Mic. If you were looking to have multiple displays, unfortunately, the limitation will be 1 display output using the HDMI or DP ports. Kindly, j5.

Not for Apple M1 Chips

This unit is NOT compatible with the new IMac with the M1 chip. This is not a plug & play unit- so it does require drivers to be installed. J5 does not have drivers for the new macs- only for Intel chips.

Posted .Hello, unfortunately, the drivers are only compatible with Intel chips. The HDMI/VGA and Mic requires drivers and the HDMI and DP do not. We do offer PnP such as JCD382 or JCD383. Thank you for your review.

Only downfall is that you cannot use all the video ports. Unless I am doing something wrong. It will not let me have 2 HDMI and 1 display port. I would plug in 1 HDMI and it would work perfectly. But as when I try to use the other HDMI port, it does not work. Other than that it works great.

Posted .When it comes to the JCD543's HDMI ports, one is PnP and the other is software based. Depending on the OS you have and the computer's capabilities, you may or may not be able to use them both.
