I was able to thaw out larger packs of meat. However, it is now March 2023 and the microwave is turning itself on. This is a dangerous situation as it can potentially cause a fire. I unplugged it and am now having to purchase a different one. This is the first time I have had an issue with an Insignia brand product.

Too many are defective

The first one had plastic on the touchpad peeling and bubbling Within 2 weeks of use. The replacement one they sent sounds so loud that it sounds like it’s getting ready to blow up. Customer service wouldn’t send me another replacement and the store won’t answer phones so I am stuck purchasing one and swapping it out since stores around me don’t carry this. I bought this during Black Friday for $50 and so it’s worth trying to get a good one but I surely wouldn’t pay full price for this.

Died after a 1.5 years.

Was very noisy and returned it. My hunch that it was a lemon. Feb 4, got a new one. Standard noise level. Worked great. Today, it became possessed and word start on its own. When I would try to heat up for just 1 minute, it would stop at 40 seconds. I would hit the start button, it would turn off. What a shame . It lasted 1.5 years. I got it on sale and with several coupons I had accumulated, paid 66$ for it. So if you are looking for a good microwave that will only last you about a year and half- then this is a good buy. Otherwise, I suggest you look for a name brand. Good luck!
