It was the same issue. My laptop is sitting on a stand a few feet away from my chair. I wanted an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse to do the tasks without having to get up repeatedly. I accomplished that goal with this one without spending a fortune.

I purchased this mouse to use with my new 14" hp pavilion 2 in 1 laptop. I wanted a mouse to carry around with me as I went from place to place. This mouse does that job nicely. It is compact, yet fits my hand comfortably. It pairs instantly with my laptop. It glides smoothly over most surfaces. There is a button on the bottom to turn off the mouse when not in use, and thereby conserve battery power. It looks premium. It is a good buy.
