    I purchased this unit because my Home AC stopped functioning. I have it in my primary bed room, which has an area of approximately 285sqft, and it cools it with no problem. It does make noise, but is not as bad as other reviews say. I strongly recommend it.

    works very good, keeps the room cooler than equal size window unit i had before. I like being able to wheel it around. Had missing and damaged parts on the first order, but best buy took care of it for me. 5 stars all the way

    As with all my insignia products this works really well and have had no problems so far. It’s a little loud when running full steam but only for a few minutes. Overall a great value.

    I purchased this portable because one of my rooms wasn't cooling off. It works great. The only down fall would be theres only a hose for draining. It would've been better to have a removable bucket to dump the water. This was also installed in a basement window 12"x 24" Box includes 3 different size panels,only one had a hole for the vent hose. Since it was on the larger piece, we had no choice but to cut it down making sure we didn't touch the hole. If they had made the hole on all 3, I could've use the smallest panel. It does the trick but you have to be handy!

    These things are perfect. They're tanks. Run forever. Best feature us you rarely--if ever--have to drain them because they use the water to cool the compressor. GENIUS! I use this to cool my studio shed and it FREEZES me out. I also have these in my upstairs bedrooms for those hot Texas summer nights.
