I was really confident this would do the trick. Our living room is about 250 square feet, but high ceiling, and this should cover 350 so we went with the bigger unit. It keeps the humidity down, but on a hot day, the temp only gets down to 80, and will rise up to 85. Often the temp outside is just a degree or two warmer. If not for the humidity control it wouldn’t be worth it at all. It keeps the room bearable.

I understand that you are upset with the loud noise that this machine creates. If a portable air conditioner is generating rattling noise, it's probably the problem with the fans (the blades are producing the vibrations that eventually lead to rattling noises). Most often, there is a misalignment of two fans; the blower fan in the air handler and the fan in the condenser coil.

Purchase this because it has double the BTU my current air conditioner has. I switched back to the old one within three or four days because this unit can barely handle the humidity let alone cool down a room. No idea how this is supposed to cool down a room even bigger than the one I bought it for. Save your money bc when I tried to return it BestBuy wouldn’t allow it and said I had to work w the manufacturer. Total waste and very unhappy w BestBuy.

Didn't cool at all

So far customer service has been good about it and gonna get it replaced tomorrow.

It felt like a regular fan. I’ve had other ACs that have been better. I dont know if it’s because it has been hotter than before but it seemed as if the AC didn’t work. I returned it.

Poor placement of drain

The bottom drain spout was broken when received from inside shipping box. Very poor placement for a drain and easily broken. Work good besides that and having to superglue drain back on

Made some weird clicking noises and no long produces cold air. I called Best Buy support about it and they gave me a bogus out of service Insignia number to call. I had to look up the number and just got off the phone with them. They won’t do anything and the warranty is only for one year. Complete waste of money.

I guess the point was to make sure the machine works and not that it has all its pieces! Walmart has deals still. Let me grab one from their store.
