Poor quality broke in 2 weeks power failure.

Great performance for less than the big brands
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My brother's landlord has been dragging his feet on replacing the air conditioner in his apartment, so he originally got a Frigidaire portable AC. Granted the Frigidaire works good, but he needed another portable AC unit for his apartment. He mentioned to me he wanted to try the Insignia portable AC since it was cheaper than the Frigidaire (so I got the Insignia for him to help him out). So far this Insignia portable AC has been cooling just as well as the Frigidaire! The remote for the unit is super convenient. One thing to note, you will need to keep the window screen installed. This unit does not come with a mesh screen to go over the end of the flexible tube that connects to the window mount. Yes the unit itself has a plastic grate where the tube connects, but for keeping bugs out it would have been better if it came with a mesh screen, call it extra insurance. But overall, for the price of this unit I (and my brother) are quite pleased with how well the unit works. I have had Insignia TVs and they have worked very well for me, I will remember to get Insignia AC units for myself going forward as well.
