this 8000 btu unit performed far below the 6000 but window unit i was using. 100 square feet max. I returned it.

Doesn’t cool probably, high speed with AC on feels like low speed.

My brother's landlord has been dragging his feet on replacing the air conditioner in his apartment, so he originally got a Frigidaire portable AC. Granted the Frigidaire works good, but he needed another portable AC unit for his apartment. He mentioned to me he wanted to try the Insignia portable AC since it was cheaper than the Frigidaire (so I got the Insignia for him to help him out). So far this Insignia portable AC has been cooling just as well as the Frigidaire! The remote for the unit is super convenient. One thing to note, you will need to keep the window screen installed. This unit does not come with a mesh screen to go over the end of the flexible tube that connects to the window mount. Yes the unit itself has a plastic grate where the tube connects, but for keeping bugs out it would have been better if it came with a mesh screen, call it extra insurance. But overall, for the price of this unit I (and my brother) are quite pleased with how well the unit works. I have had Insignia TVs and they have worked very well for me, I will remember to get Insignia AC units for myself going forward as well.

Poor to Fair Quality. Uses ALOT of expensive Electricity! Poor cooling!

5 stars isn’t enough. I couldn’t have asked for a better machine. I love how the installation was simply clipping the mounts on to the hose and sliding it onto the back of the ac. Same thing with the window kit (a simple clip, and go). This thing was super easy to put together and install. It isn’t too loud. It gets my room ice cold; and the instructions are straight foward. If you’re indecisive about which ac you should buy, go with this one. I’m literally planning to put one of these in every room of my house! A++

This portable AC saved me and my wife from a dreadfully hot summer a couple years back, 2021 to be specific. Our room only had a sliding glass door that led to a balcony. Meanwhile all the other rooms in the apartment which belonged to the kid’s, had the luxury of containing windows and their own personal units to go in them. With us not having the same prosperity, it left us with the only logical solution left, and that was to go on the search for a portable unit. Finding a great quality product at a very reasonable price was one of the most beneficial decisions I’ve ever made. It would cool down the whole room which was around 15’ x 25’ (if not larger) within minutes, not to mention if we kept our door open it would cool off the hallway as well. I definitely recommend this product if you are in need of a portable AC! My son still uses it to this day, we moved and he took the furnished attic as his room, so you could imagine the possible heat produced from the roof alone. You can’t even conjure up a such thing as heat up there.

First off, never buy a GE. Secondly, i was skeptical about this one but it’s great. Noise level isn’t bad and it blows out very cold air. Also the fan stays on when it rewches the temperature which is awesome if you have this in your bedroom while youre sleeping since the sound level wont go from having the noise to having nothing. Glad we got this one.

Saw the reviews for it being loud and thought to myself, I can deal with this especially for the price, well people, it’s super loud. It gets louder the longer you run it. I’m pretty sure the compressor is rubbing on something because when it gets loud, I give it the good ‘ol Fonzie smack and it gets a little better but it comes back. All in all it works and cools. So as long as your into smacking it every so often you should be good with it.

This air conditioner is a great unit for your living room or office. This unit definitely cools off your room, and since it's portable, you can fit this into small/odd sized windows. However, if you are looking for a portable air conditioner for your bedroom - do not purchase this item! First, the screen that indicates the temperature/fan speed/mode is quite bright. When you shut off your light the screen throws off a lot of light. I have to cover the top with duct tape. In addition to the brightness of the screen, I think the worst feature is the noise. This unit is on par with other units in terms of loudness, but it seems to be stuck on constant economy mode. So at night your air conditioner will be blasting, then all of a sudden it will be dead quiet, and then it will kick back on very loudly. This change in noise is so drastic, I did not sleep at the first night I used this. Even now, I need to wear ear plugs when it runs at night.

This ac unit works so well in my 850sq ft apartment. We keep it in the living room and it completely cools that room in about half an hour and the rest of the house feels the effects maybe an hour after that. Not too noisy. Easy to put together!

Perfect for hot weather I’m happy with it and my daughter too.

Bought this unit in a flash without thinking and comparing to other brands and I regret buying it.Not satisfied at all that I wanted to return it right away.It's heavy-no wheels compared to other brands so it needs 2 people to move it.It's noisy.My daughter and husband really can't stand the noise.The cooling part is not bad at all though.

Works AMAZING!!!! This portable ac cooled down my bedroom in less than 20 min! My bedroom isn’t large but it is a fair size. Easy to set up and pumps out COLD air. Just what I needed before the head wave hit the easy coast. Very happy customer.

I have been using this air conditioner for the past 4 Summers. My 1 bedroom apartment is big and has an unusual layout, the bedroom is wide open to the living room. The area is big yet this 350sq conditioner is sufficient to cool it. I also never had an issue with it

It works great but i hope they have closure in the hose that goes out of window. You would see birds coming in/out and building up a nest.
