    Great but not amazing

We didn't even need to rinse the dishes before putting them in our old dishwasher. This one does require pretty thorough prewashing. I haven't been impressed with the prowash setting, and have found that only the heavy wash does a good job with oily or greasy plates. However, the 3rd rack is really convenient and usable space, as opposed to some 3 rack dishwashers that don't really offer that much extra room. I also like that you can move the middle rack up and down. Its very convenient for taller items. Overall, very satisfied.

    WARNING - DO NOT BUY!

I would have given this dishwasher a good rating within a few months of buying it. However, within the warranty period, we noticed that water was leaking from the unit. The repairman fixed the leak by replacing the faulty float switch and commented that where the heating element attaches to the tub would corrode (known problem) but he couldn't replace it then because ours appeared to be intact at the time. Fast forward a year later, water was leaking again and we found out that the posts that secure the heating element to the tub had corroded and parts of those corroded pieces fell off and were lodged into the pump's impeller, shredded the screen, and seized up the motor so now we have to replace the heating element and the circulation pump assembly. Of course, this is no longer within the warranty period. To say that we are frustrated is an understatement. We now have a damaged floor as a result of the leaks as well as paying for new parts. I have read on posts that people have had thousands of dollars of damage due to this dishwasher. I will never buy a Kitchenaid again. Why can't companies build appliances with parts that are built to last?

It was bought on 7-5-2022, and on 4-15-2025, the Drain Pump Stopped working. So, my options are to spend at least $300 diagnosing what I already know is the problem, it needs a new drain pump, and then likely another $100 for a $37 drain pump. So about $400 to repair something that should last 5-7 years without problems, or buy a NEW dishwasher. I Had a control panel go out on a $4000 stove, 1 month after warranty, Also Kitchenaid. My estimation now is that Kitchenaid sells cheap crap, and still charges for the name. which to me now is a steaming pile of horse... Will never buy anything from Kitchenaid again.

Be ready for a surprise electrical cost! We paid for installation (and removal of the old one), which Best Buy was happy to take, however they failed to mention that upon installation, any house built before 2020 will have to have a GFI outlet out in for the dishwasher to plug into. When we contact the store and customer line, they simply said it’s not their problem. All we asked is that everyone be made aware that if they purchase this unit, know you will be spending another $200-250 on hanging the GFI outlet out in…while your new dishwasher sits there. (Note: the electrical coat is what we’re having to pay, if you can find cheaper, happy for you). The dishwasher itself is fine, but it’s the last time we purchase appliances from Best Buy.

Purchased this in 2020. Had to replace in 2024. The soap compartment (cheap plastic) broke within 2.5 years. The middle rack (plastic connector) broke where it connect to the slides rendering it useless. It’s quiet. Bit I’m very unhappy with its build quality. Replacing it with a Bosch 800.

We have had this dishwasher not quite 3 years. We already had a big leak caused by bad seals on the heating element. Now the pump is going out, and is going to be very expensive to replace. There is a mesh filter in the dishwasher that is supposed to be self-cleaning, but if it gets clogged it messes up the drain pump. You have to pull out the dishwasher, turn it in it's side, and remove parts from the bottom to get to this filter. The Whirlpool certified repair man said this is a bad design, and it will happen again, and recommended we replace the dishwasher. We could have already bought one with what we've paid in repairs, so that is what we're doing. If you look at reviews and do a search on the internet, issues with the heating element and pump are common with these dishwashers. I am also having issues with a stove we bought from this same brand. Never again! I've had it!

Culver City Best Buy installed a damaged product. Like others who gave 1 star my new KitchenAid dishwasher looked like it had been dropped off a truck; dents along back of product, unbeknownst to us. Dishwasher did work for a couple of weeks then stopped. Started by calling Best Buy for help but opted to pursue repair through KitchenAid warranty. When dishwasher pulled from space found not only dents but that machine had also been leaking water into floor thanks to that damaged back of machine! KitchenAid approved part replacement instead of full replacement. We're almost 2 months in, waiting for those parts, without use of a dishwasher. Installers from Culver City Best Buy should have seen damage when unboxing machine, and should not have installed it. Seeing other reviewers damaged machines I have to ask at what point machines are being damaged? Is this a failure of Best Buy and/or KitchenAid quality control? Finally, after this experience, my upcoming stove and refrigerator purchases will not be from Best Buy or KitchenAid products.

It was awesome and remarkably quiet but 2 and a half years in and the circulation pump is broken. So much for springing for the best. Every dishwasher I've ever had (and I'm an old) has lasted for well over a decade. 2 years is...something.

Updated review after 2 years. So far the top rack adjusters and bottom rack rollers have been replaced and the water pump sounds like a herd of cows when it runs. Bought this dishwasher becaise of the good reviews with the expectarion that it would last more than 2 years. Highly disappointed

This dishwasher has been a huge disappointment. It breaks too much, for a new dishwasher. I've had it for almost 4 years. It's out of warranty now. Instead of replacing the motor part, i will replace it. It has a big price tag, but i think it is of poor quality.

    Very Expensive disposable dishwasher

Buyer Beware...My old unit was probably 20 years old and worked great but I wanted a new one because it looked nice and thought KitchenAid was the best you could get. Very Expensive unit to last less than 3 years. Better off spending less if these are disposable units. First Kitchenaid major appliance, last Kitchenaid appliance. Stopped spraying water on the dishes. Power Cycled the device then tried again and became unresponsive.

Absolute garbage product. Ours died 2.5 years after purchase. Called customer support and they told us that because we didn't purchase the extended warranty they aren't willing to do anything. So if you buy this piece of trash, be sure to buy the 5 year extended warranty. You'll need it.
