Great receiver brings life to our journey
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an upgrade from a 20 year old Kenwood receiver and what a difference. Set-up was very easy and with the calibration system, our Bose speakers came to life. With the multiple HDMI connections our other components were all integrated. A very solid receiver without breaking the bank.

Don’t buy open box
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered an open box in excellent condition, didn’t even have the remote, owners manual or any accessory’s! I returned it to my local store and was being told they couldn’t do a refund, though I noticed he was getting error messages and I asked for a manager who completed the transaction!

Was pleased at first, then angry
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After just 2 days the displays 5th character stopped working completely, so instead of showing "AirPlay" it just showed "Airp ay" on the front. As if that wasn't bad enough, it also started acting very strange about simply playing music over bluetooth. Randomly stopping either just a few seconds after the song began, or about halfway through the song. Pathetic.

Solid receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price it is a solid receiver that makes movie night just that much more exciting. The 4K feature works allowing streaming movies to look much more crisp than 1080p. So far, the family is enjoying it.

Bummer Onkyo
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a lemon ! Only half the functions stayed working - Wi-Fi worthless, dropped constantly whether wired or wireless- OSD jittery and inconsistently not displaying on TV - zone 2 would not play a digital source so returned. Best Buy customer service is the best. Got a Denon now and it’s flawless.

Deserves 4.7 Stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this, to replace my 25 year old Onkyo, that predates HDMI or USB for that matter. I missed having surround sound at home. I also wanted the best bang for the buck. I was going to buy a Denon AVR-x2700h, but, I read about the hdmi 2.1 problems, that plagued the early adopters. Onkyo missed those problems by skipping a year. The Denon was more expensive, and less powerful. That, and, as I mentioned, already have a problem free, 25 year old Onkyo. Now, to be clear, I’m only using it in 5.1, at the moment. But it still sounds incredible to me. Would I love to have an IMAX enhanced unit? Sure! I’d love to be enveloped in sound, with the TX-nr7100! But, it’s twice the price! And I’m sure Atmos will sound great, once I figure out how to add 2 more speakers. I absolutely love how well it communicates with my Samsung Q80 tv. The E-ARK works great! One wire! I’m still figuring it out, at this point, however. But, so far, it does exactly what I want it to. I originally set it up, using the supplied microphone, but went back and fine-tuned it manually, once I figured out how to bring the menu up on my tv. I went in and tried to set up my Wi-Fi, but, for some reason, I couldn’t get it to connect. I ended up using my phone to set it up. It was a lot easier, though I’m still not sure if it stays connected without my phone present. I also found out the hard way, to turn off the Bluetooth receiver and transmitter. I connected it to my Sony headphones, and never turned it back off. It took me an hour to figure out why I wasn’t getting sound to my speakers. Lol! What can I say, this thing is smarter than me. I gave it 4 stars, but, it deserves 4.5-7 Giving it 5 stars, is unrealistic… I don’t even read 5 star reviews. There’s always better…. Or is there?

Kind of garbage.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing but struggles with this thing. Onscreen menus won’t show, games won’t pass through. First try with Onkyo = last try.
