Great first impression and excited to use these

I've been using them for about 2 hours now, and upon first impression, they are phenomenal. The setup is extremely easy - an app that you download through a QR code in the physical manual guides you through the process which is completed in about 5 minutes. I learned a lot of features right off the bat and I'm sure I'll learn more as I use the headphones more. The foam on the ears and the top of the set is extremely comfortable and I don't have any ear discomfort yet. My ears are average sized, so please take that into consideration. The look and feel of the headphones and the case is high quality and feels durable. The footprint isn't too big and they are lightweight which will be great for bringing them along on long trips or in a bag for the day. The sound is fantastic. It truly surrounds you. I know there are options for EQ which i till get into at another time, but out of the box the sound is great. Looking forward to my time with these, thanks Sony!

My only issue is that when you press the power button when the headphones are on it is supposed to tell you how much battery life is left but it always says battery is fully charged even when that is not the case.

Those were already great, but one of my pet peeves was that I always had to carry an extra USB-B cable. I have an Android phone so having everything charge with a USB-C is much easier to deal with. The headphones themselves sound great and having them on with nose cancelling seems like you're in a completely different place. I wear them at the gym and you can't hear any of the clanking at all while using them. These headphones can get loud, if you want them to, and I usually have them at around 60-70% volume. Gestures: They work well once you get used to it, but with anything touch based, it can and does get better over time with software updates. Battery life: It's advertised as 30 hours so shouldn't have any issues with 2 weeks of use. Due to USB C, charging is really fast and you can get 2 hours of use with just a quick 10 min. charge. So if you have a car charger and your headphones are dead on the way to the gym, you can charge them enough for a full session.

I like its dual connectivity feature as I usually use my laptop and phone concurrently and I had to switch connection between them with my old headphones. I just wish it took a somewhat shorter time to get fully charged. However, the battery life after each charge is pretty good.

Top Notch ANC

I've had the XM-2s for the last 6 years or so and they were still going strong. The only reason I upgraded was because of the sale and ease of charging (they were my only device that was still on the old USB type). I gifted those to a friend and changed over to these. Battery life is still excellent, comfort can't be beat, and I still can't hear babies crying on an airplane with only needing to turn the volume up to below midpoint. These are my ideal headphones and I will sweat by them over other brands, having tried beats and Bose before and just not being as satisfied.

I need over-the-ear headphones as my ears get sore when I wear regular headphones for a long period of time, and I had the Studio Beats previously but the noise canceling was kinda subpar. I work in an office setting where the guy next to me is on calls constantly, and I could hear the drone of his voice through the Studio Beats. With these guys, I hear NOTHING and it is phenomenal. The ability to tweak the level of noise that is canceled out is also really cool. Battery life is stellar. Highly recommend!

I contemplated getting the AirPods Max but this has just as good sound if not better, good battery life, and much lighter while wearing. They work great in the gym or walking around campus. I have really long and big curly hair in the headphones still sit comfortably over my ears. I do tend to sweat a lot around my temples when I work out, so I make sure to clean them once a week. I can usually go two days without charging them with constant headphone use does noise cancellation works great when I’m not on a silent floor of the library and the ambience is perfect for when I’m in the gym, but someone is asking me a question!

GREAT noise cancellation in loud environments

I started off with the regular AirPods, then got the AirPods Pro. The AirPods Pro have a good noise cancelling for everyday use but these Sony’s are impressive! The noise cancellation is the best I have ever used. I have an auto detailing business and always use them when I am working. They do a really good job at noise cancellation, my gas pressure washer, vacuum etc are very loud. These headphones do wonders when it comes canceling all that noise. If these can handle my loud working environment I’m sure it they can handle whatever type of environment you are in. I have seen the decibels get up to 100 according to my Apple Watch and these headphones make the noise very tolerable. I can still hear my machines working but at maybe 20% of the actual noise they make. The battery life is great! I got these on sale for 279. I have seen that sale happen often. They are worth the price! The Sony app is also easy to use and you can have these headphones paired with 2 devices. The controls on the side of headphones are easy to use and took me a bit to get used to since its a swipe motion instead of a clicks (airpods).

I use these everyday and charge only twice a week. I commute by train everyday on the NYC subway and it’s very noisy but with these headphones when ANC kicks in it takes all the noise away and I’m in my own little world enjoying my music as I sit for my stop. Extremely comfortable headphones and have worn them for 3 hours straight without any ear pain. Yes if the weather is warm they will head your ears up and cause sweat. Be careful using these outside in the rain. They don’t react well to water. As they should since they are not water proof.... There are firmware updates once in a while and I believe the app may be set by default to grab them automatically if connected to wifi. App is also great just wish they didn’t remove the sound simulator that was in the app for the XM3. I bought the black and midnight blue color for my wife. Honestly they look the same. The midnight blue is very close to black. I should have bought the silver instead. No big deal though. Please be warn that if you have an apple device you will only be able to use AAC codec not LDAC. Also the bass response is clean and can further be adjusted via EQ on App.
