This is Canon’s least expensive full frame camera in the new “R” mirrorless system. It is also a first generation camera from 2019. I am a heavy, metal body camera fan but this mostly plastic body feels confident in hand. I am also partial to higher resolution sensors (at least on paper) and Canon jumps all over the place with 20mp, 24mp, 26mp, 30mp, 50mp options. The RP is a very respectable 26mp. I learned photography using manual focus and cameras with no light meter at all, so the lack of super sophisticated auto modes was no big deal. The kit lens is my favorite zoom range and, although slow (dim) at 105mm, it is nice and sharp. The low light shadows may be noisy (speckled) but almost all photo software has good de-noise settings.

Love this camera so far but it is advanced for the beginner! I’ve got s lot of amazing things to learn.

Good for the money, I would recommend as a starter camera

I don't know why i waited so so long to upgrade. With my 50D all current pictures were dark and not sharp. I stopped taking my once great camera on our vacations because I spent hours post processing them to get them to look wright. My daughter had her Prom, Graduation, and senior nights so I upgraded and was WOW' d immediately. The pictures are so much better and I found and hard to find EOS lens mount for my older lenses at Canon (sold out every whenever else. the pictures are so good I don't have to process any of the them saving me tons of time behind the screen. GREAT CAMERA!!

Canon never ceases to amaze me, and this EOS RP is just one reason why. It's so versatile for a beginner/enthusiast camera I've been able to go from shooting stars to shooting rodeo without so much as changing the lens. The RF mount has tons of options for lenses, and the battery life, though short, can still get me through an entire day. If you like the M50 or the Rebel series cameras, you'll LOVE the RP. It's not the fastest kid on the block, in fact, it's one of the slowest and for my use case, or for a beginner, that's a GOOD thing.

Fabulous camera for the price-point. Has all the features I need. Lots of accessories available like different adapters to mount pretty much any kind of vintage lens. Excellent build quality. And this camera body is actually MADE IN JAPAN! I love using this device because it allowed me to resurrect all my old Nikon-F and Pentax M-lenses with the right adapters to use with this camera.

I was looking for a full frame camera to step my game up and get back into photography with out having to donate an organ and stumbled upon this one. I did several compares and couldn’t say no. This is my first mirrorless and I love it. The quality of photos are great and all the technology in the camera is amazing! The electronic viewfinder is dope! This camera definitely does not disappoint!

This was an awesome buy. We’ve made several music videos and done quite a few photo ops with this camera. It’s great for small business marketing and within a small business budget.

Definitely a great camera for photography and video. It’s a mirrorless camera so obviously the battery dies pretty fast but isn’t a major issue.
