We bought two monitors for her to use but our pc doesn't have hdmi ports for the newer monitors. These adapters allowed us to use the monitors. I don't know if the loose picture quality as we don't use our pc for shows or pictures. For pdfs, documents, ebooks, presentations, it does the job.
