Easy to use - add the water and you will hear when the ice cubes are made and ready to move to the freezer. The ice cubes are small, which is not a problem for me. Easy to use - easy to clean.

This thing functions nicely and does exactly what it supposed to make great ice. I recommend filling it up with purified water and it makes ice quickly and keeps it cold and stored all the time so you always have ice ready.

This gave as much or more ice than much larger ones. Makes enough to keep up with young folks need on a weekend I won father of the year amongst her roommates

They all failed miserably in the first 3-6 months. - This one works faster and has larger storage. I added the extended warranty just in case but so far Insignia products beat "other" big brand names hands down. Looking forward to more Insignia products in my home.

It will melt some if you wait til the basket is full before putting it in the freezer but it was a great purchase for our family.

Good, but could be better

However, like most ice makers, cleaning and maintence takes a conisderable amount of time. To really clean the icemaker, you have to unscrew roughly 8 screws to remove the top of the casing for access to clean. I feel like it was not designed as well as it could be.

You have to remove the ice right away if you want to keep it. If it melts it will go right back into the water holder and will remake ice. I remove it and put in in a zip lock and into the freezer it goes. I like this machine a lot!
