Serious Health Hazard - Rusted material in tank

Noticed after a year when I decided to clean behind the protection cover. All this time thought that the calcium concentrate was the culprit but apparently we have been drinking rust all this time. Dangerous and poor design!

I used almost everyday while working from home. Unfortunately, 23 months later small pieces of black mildew started to come out. Based on the shape of the mildew, it looked like it came off from inside a water tube. If someone not checking the bottom of the water reservoir or pay attention to the ice you scoop, you might not know you are drinking mildew.

Wish it had better insulation

Even though the ice cubes dont last long, the machine reuses the water from the melted ice to make new. *small size cubes shown in images*

Constantly gives error message that it needs water when reservoir is full. Have tried cleaning it, unplugging it, etc. but the message always comes back. Now it is leaking rust into the water reservoir from the tray mechanism (see pics). Note: I only use filtered water from our RO system.

Decent icemaker

I bought this product December 31st. Two weeks ago, I came home from work to find the ice backed up and the arm the helps move the ice into the ice holder broken. I thought perhaps it somehow slipped off. It did not, it was actually broken. I reached out to Insignia customer support and through multiple emails back and forth, they decided they were not going to fulfill the manufacturing warranty, which is one year. Do yourself a favor and do NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Clear cubes if u use zero water
