This coffee maker makes an awesomely great carafe / cup (and every thing in between) of coffee including specialty coffees, the design of the machine is great, 1. removable water reservoir (easy to clean) 2. Multiple cup / carafe sizes 3. ‘classic’, ‘rich’, 'over ice' or 'specialty brews' 4. The water reservoir can be positioned to maximize counter space 5. Frother 6. Great / easy to use and understand controls 7. K-cup or grounds. 8. Independent Hot or boiling water for tea etc.. This is my fourth Ninja coffee maker (I keep upgrading), they are nice to look at, easy to use, quiet, and durable. Awesome !!!

To date, this is the best coffee maker I have ever owned. I love the versatility of being able to brew so many different styles from a small concentrated brew for a latte all the way up to a 55 oz full carafe. If I only want a partial carafe, no problem with that either. It is absolutely simple to switch between pods and grounds, size of brew, and concentration. There is a sturdy, fold-down shelf if someone wants to brew a mug. It neatly folds up for a travel mug or the carafe. When done brewing, the brew basket easily slides out to dump the filter and grounds. As it comes out, it is spring-loaded to automatically seal the hole so I do not drip on my way to the garbage can and sink. Because it comes out so easily, it is also simple to clean. The controls are sleek and intuitive. The machine knows whether I am brewing a pod or grounds and only displays the appropriate options based on the mode. If I want hot or boiling water, that is also simple to get. Best of all, the water comes out of a separate spout, so my oatmeal does not have a coffee aroma to it. Filling is simple. The water reservoir can be on the back or the right side to either make the machine narrow and long, or short and slightly wider. Warmup is fast and brewing is just as efficient. The machine can brew a full carafe in a few minutes. Then, that carafe really holds heat. I let the coffee sit for three hours and tried it. I figured it had to have cooled down at least a little bit, and I ended up burning my tongue. Taste was the same as freshly brewed. I let it sit overnight to see what would happen. Twelve hours after brewing, the temperature dropped into the 80's F. Since it was not on a warming plate, evaporating and burning, the coffee still tasted good. It was just cold. Last but not least, this machine can brew nicely over ice by slowing down the brew cycle, allowing the coffee to come out stronger while using the same amount of grounds as a hot brew. If someone wants a specialty drink with frothed milk. The frothing arm swings out to whip the milk. Because it does not heat the milk, it is great to go along with iced drinks. If someone wants a warm froth, the milk just needs to go in the microwave before frothing. When done, the wand pops off and is top-shelf dishwasher safe. They really did a great job designing this machine. I have nothing to complain about. This might be the first time I have nothing negative to say about an item.

    Almost Perfect Multi-Function System

If you need a multi-function "coffee machine" that allows you to use either coffee grounds or K-cups, or to heat up hot water for tea, the Nina DualBrew is something worth considering. Grounds, K-Cups, or Hot Water Probably my favorite feature of this DualBrew is the ability to make drinks using ground coffee or K-Cups. Depending on your need, you can either use the ground coffee adapter or switch it out for the K-Cup adaptor to make coffee, teas, ciders and whatever else offered in the Keurig K-Cup pods. If you're needing hot water for teas, that's always an option as well. Varying Sizes Whether you're wanting a small 6-ounce cup or a full carafe, and practically every size in between, the DualBrew system allows you to produce as much or as little as you need. Swing-out Milk Frother I don't always make cappuccinos or other drinks that require frothed milk, but the swing-out milk frother is a convenient feature. Note that it does now warm your milk, so you will need to do that separately (like in a microwave) before frothing with the DualBrew's attachment. Large Water Tank The 60oz water tank on the DualBrew means less time having to re-fill between brews. It is large enough to make several cups of coffee or a large carafe. One of my favorite features of this system is that you can position the water tank on the right side of the system (which is its default position) or move it so the tank is on the back of the system. Overall Impressions I really enjoy using the Ninja DualBrew system. It allows me the flexibility to use either coffee grounds or K-Cups on-the-fly without any hassle. Plus, it eliminates the need for two or more systems. The touch-screen interface is intuitive and makes crafting drinks a breeze, allowing me to select a style and volume (size). I have not encountered any issues in my time with this machine, so I cannot really point out any cons to the system (other than wishing the milk frother would warm your milk). If you need or want a multi-function system in your household, the Ninja DualBrew is something worth your time and money. While my title is "Almost Perfect" yet I still gave it a 5-star rating, it's because of the milk frother gripe. But that grip isn't enough to remove a star. It's really a 5-star system.

    Great Flexible Coffee System

We have had an old Keurig model, I think it's a K55, for several years. From the beginning, it's been slow to heat up water, taking a few minutes to start up. We use it for hot water as much as we use it for brewing a cup of coffee. While it gets the job done, we discovered much better performance with the Ninja DualBrew Pro. With the Ninja DualBrew Pro, we quickly noticed how fast it heats water. In addition, it can heat up and dispense all 60 ounces in the reservoir into its included carafe which gives us plenty of hot water flexibility. The volume of water dispensed or coffee brewed is controllable by the knob on the front of the unit. By contrast, the K55 was only able to dispense up to 10oz at a time. There are two heat settings for hot water, boil and hot. If you want the hottest water, it will dispense a few ounces at a time and then boil up the next batch, but if you're OK without having the hottest water, the hot setting seems to just continuously dispense water that has passed through the heating element and not necessarily boiling all of it. When it comes to coffee brewing, the Ninja team earns high praise. With the k-cup pod adapter, you can brew up any of your disposable k-cups easily. Obviously, with our K55, we were missing the ability to brew a 'pot' of coffee. The Ninja team figured out a way to remove the k-cup pod adapter so you have a more traditional brew basket. What's more is that the control panel recognizes the configuration changes and changes the options accordingly. For example, you wouldn't want 50 oz of water brewing through a k-cup. With this system, you also have other intelligent brew settings like brewing a classic, rich, over ice or specialty coffees. All of this easily controlled through the touch screen. The included carafe is made of a stainless steel and is double-walled to insulate your hot beverage for hours. There is an included scoop for grounds. And my kids have enjoyed using the fold-away frother. The frother does not heat up, just spins. I like that the hot water and the coffee systems are separate. We've had multiple instances with the K55 where someone left a coffee pod and the next person triggers the hot water cycle for their tea and gets 'coff-tea' instead. With the Ninja DualBrew Pro, the coffee and hot water have separate paths. What's also nice is that the Ninja team also includes a drip stop system to prevent any last drops from the coffee maker from mixing into your hot water. One unexpected feature is the ability to change the location of the water reservoir. By releasing a clip, you can move the reservoir from the side to the rear of the machine. Since our coffee maker sits on our countertop beneath our cabinets, having the reservoir in the rear is inconvenient for us. Even with the great performance of this Ninja DualBrew Pro, there are a few shortcomings. The largest of which is the fold down cup platform. It's a great feature and works well, however, it mis-leads us to center our mug over the rubberized hole. But both the hot water and coffee tend to dispense in the rear so it ends up missing our cups and we end up with a hot mess on our countertop. When you've barely woken up and just want a fresh brew, you're not always thinking that you need to push your cup further back than indicated to catch everything. Unfortunately, you cannot use just any reusable k-cup. The Ninja system uses a triple nozzle system that I haven't found in a reusable k-cup yet. These extra nozzles are just fine for a disposable pod, but won't allow you to close the lid when using a reusable k-cup. While the product is advertised as a 12-cup drip coffee maker, it's not. The reservoir and carafe can both hold 60 oz. Traditionally, 60 oz does equal twelve 5 oz servings of coffee and not twelve 8 oz cups. However, the brew size for coffee is limited to 55 oz, so only 11 servings of coffee. Despite the mis-leading marketing, mis-leading target zone, and the lack of reusable k-cup support, it really is a solid, well thought out system. We truly enjoy the flexibility and speed that is offered by the Ninja DualBrew Pro system.

This is my second ninja coffee maker, and I love it just as much as the first. One thing that I think is an awesome improvement on this model is the versatility of the water reservoir. Depending on the counter space you have available, it can either go on the side, or it can attach to the back. I love having the option to put it on the back because I can put it in the corner of one of my countertops and have way more space on either side of it than I did before. Since I’m limited on counter space in my kitchen, that’s a huge plus. In comparing my previous ninja coffee maker to this one, the other feature that I love on the new one is that it can use K cups. The older model did allow you to make single cups of coffee, but you still had to use the regular filter, not K cups.To be honest there’s really nothing about this coffee maker that I don’t like. The design is an improvement on the old, but you still get them quality ninja product you expect. Lastly, I am all about the thermal carafe. I think it’s a must for coffee because it really does keep it warmer longer, without having to be reheated. I may be a bit of a snob when it comes to reheated coffee but it just doesn’t taste the same to me. This is the most versatile coffee maker I’ve ever owned and ninja just continues to impress me.

The Ninja Dual Brew Pro is Amazing!

I’ve gone through my fair share of coffee makers from Keurig, Nespresso, and basic coffee maker for ground coffee. With my limited space, there’s just not enough space for all of them. I’ve always been wary of 2in1 systems because they either suck at being both or they’re good at one thing and not for the other. Well, let me put those fears to rest if you have them too. The Ninja Dual Brew Pro does an amazing job of being awesome at brewing K-Cups and ground coffee without any compromises. It does it without being over complicated when switching from K-Cup to ground coffee, and it does a much better job at K-Cups compared to my previous Keurig machine that almost costs as much as this one. From unboxing to set up took less than 5 mins. There is not a whole lot of moving parts to install, which is another good thing that helps keep things simple to use. Once you installed the water tank, a milk frother, and the K-Cup pod adapter you’re good to go. If you want to brew some ground coffee, all you have to do is push the K-Cup pod adapter to the unlock position, remove it by picking it up. After that just make sure you have your coffee filter installed and just slide the sliding lid when you’re done adding your ground coffee. The system is smart enough to know what type of coffee you are brewing either K-Cup or grounds. Another big plus for me is how easily you can clean the K-Cup Pod adapter and the cleanliness. The previous Keurig system I was not of fan how quickly it needed to be cleaned to prevent cross-contamination of flavors, and removing around 3-5 parts to fully clean it. With the Ninja Dual Brew Pro, it’s cut down to 2 parts, the brew basket, and the K-Cup pod adapter. The K-Cup pod adapter is much easier to clean, without needing to take it apart. Ninja has made sure that maintenance and cleaning weren’t going to be a chore. It does use a #4 Coffee filter for ground coffee which is inexpensive. There are a couple of brew options available for K-Cup and ground coffee. Classic: for smooth well-balanced flavor. Rich: for a more intense flavor that stands up to milk, cream, or flavoring. Specialty: for making cappuccinos and lattes(limited to 4oz). Over Ice: for making Iced Coffee. One of the other features it has is hot water mode. With the water outlet being separate from the coffee outlet, so your hot or boiled water won’t taste like coffee for your soup or tea. I like this feature since keeping it separate makes sure that my hot water is free from coffee residue. You also have your other features like setting up a timer for your coffee to brew for a later time. The flexibility of moving the water tank to the back if needed to. Overall I’m extremely happy with the Ninja Dual Brew Pro. It allows us to have the best of both worlds the quickness of a K-Cup when you’re on the go and the value of ground coffee for your guests. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about a coffee machine lol, yeah it’s that good.

    DOES NOT KEEP COFFEE WARM

It does not have a heated carafe like every $20+ coffee maker. So it makes good coffee but unless you drink the coffee all within 1 hour its going to start cooling off (insulated coffee pot is alright but seriously why even build this to save a few dollars?). Just get the more expensive one that keeps your coffee warm or buy something different.

    Very Efficient and Effective

I appreciate that this Ninja system has so many well working options in a small footprint. While I found the written instructions to be disjointed, the control display was pretty intuitive, allowing you to choose your coffee size and strength, or your size and temp for hot water. I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the stainless steel carafe in retaining heat, even with the open brewing hole on the top. Immediate brews measured about 152 degrees F. After three hours in the pot, it was still measuring at an enjoyable 110. The hot water options for tea or other uses were either Hot or Boil. These measured about 148 and 180 degrees, respectively. A noticeable difference, but not technically a boiling point if that matters for your purposes. It’s much appreciated that the hot water line is separate from the coffee brewing line, so you don’t get any coffee residue or taint in the hot water. Choosing between Classic and Rich settings seemed to create a slight drop in the water used for the brew, so you just end up with a less diluted coffee when you choose Rich. It did taste a bit more robust, so it’s a nice feature when you have different preferences in your family of coffee drinkers. The Ninja includes a pod option, requiring a very simple drop-in piece. It’s a snap, and easy to use. It is not compatible with reusable pods, which might matter to some people. But with single-use pods, it worked just fine. There is also an optional piece for frothing, which I found equally simple, just swing out the arm, snap in the piece and press the button. It frothed like a charm. The Ninja provides a way to move the water tank from the side to the back in a simple maneuver, saving a few inches in width if your counter space is small. I didn’t find this to be especially helpful as having the tank in the back made it harder to access and pour into, so I ended up turning the entire machine sideways to do it. So, ultimately, the tank on the side worked best for me. All in all, I liked the Ninja system very much and would highly recommend it.

I’ve had this about a month now and it’s by far the best coffee maker I’ve ever had. I love the convenience of being able to use pods or ground coffee. Switching between the two modes is as simple as removing or reinstalling the pod adapter, which only takes a second. The touch screen interface is sleek and elegant. The number of options can seem daunting at first, but it is intuitive and easy to learn. You simply insert your pod or grounds, pick the type of brew you want, select the desired ounces, and you’re good to go. It has four brew modes. Classic is basically a regular cup of coffee. “Rich” produces a bolder flavor but fewer ounces of coffee. “Over ice” is just what it sounds like. Simply fill your cup with ice before brewing and you’ll be sipping a delicious iced coffee in no time. Finally, the “specialty” option brews 4 ounces of extra strong coffee so you can make special drinks. It also has a built in milk frother that collapses into the side of the unit and is simple to remove and clean. It includes a smart scoop that tells you how many scoops to use for various sizes of drinks or carafes. It also has an independent hot water system you can use to make tea or oatmeal or whatever else you may need. I would recommend getting a permanent filter to use with ground coffee so you won’t have to worry about getting paper filters. I highly recommend this to any coffee lover. Its sleek design, ease of use, and versatility make this an excellent appliance that will be brewing delicious coffee for many years to come.

Love the ease, automation and breadth of features. The metal thermal pot is apparently only available at Best Buy. My only complaint is that the brew isn't particularly hot, but a quick micorwave take care of that. Great that you fill the water reservoir and it ony uses the volume you program.
