Awesome for $1099.00
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent for the sale price! Plays all the latest games at competitive frame rates! If your playing at the full resolution don't! I play almost everything at 1080 on a 14 8inch display looks amazing even still! I have my power setting to keep heat in check! Play cod cold War get 90-120 frames tear free to which is more than enough to be competitive all while keeping cpu temps around 79 and gpu temps around 73 not complaints at all! So far so good loving it will update if things change

Great product.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this laptop. Runs games super well, just make sure it’s plugged in if you’re playing anything. I’ve been using for around 2 years at this point and haven’t had any issues.

Massive improvement
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously owned the 2021 g14 and a 2016 14" MacBook Pro. This laptop brings the best features of both. Like the Mac it has a high resolution screen, big trackpad and a webcam that was missing from the previous generation g14. Like the previous generation it packs a performance punch for its size in an even more premium feeling chassis. Ray tracing performance is lower than the 3060 but I never used it due to the frame rate reduction anyway. On another note the 2022 streams much more smoothly to my Quest 2 probably due to an upgraded wifi card.

Great value on a top-shelf gaming laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent at least 15-20 hours looking at gaming laptops and associated reviews before stumbling across this one - I had never seen a more universal "thumbs up" for a single device across so many ratings platforms - and that was for this device at $1649. At $999, it's a criminally good deal. Top-shelf Ryzen 9 processor from (now) last gen absolutely plows through any and all processes. 16GB of DDR5 RAM does a great job with everything I've thrown at it so far - wish 8GB weren't soldered to the mobo but...can still swap in another 16 to get to 24GB in the future. At 1TB the SSD is more than adequate - boot times from sleep are plenty quick - just wish there was another slot to add more but there's the next best thing, a microSD slot...so expandability is still an option! Hardcore gamers may decry the display as "merely 120Hz" but it looks silky smooth and is plenty bright for most situations (i.e. not outside in full sunlight). ASUS has been doing this gaming thing for awhile now and their Armoury Crate "app" is very well done, allows you to tweak GPU and CPU settings on the fly to optimize battery life and gaming performance...speaking of battery life, for a gaming PC it's quite good - none of these things are REALLY designed to go all day but this guy does a fantastic job of not requiring a permanant wall tether. The 16:10 display I particularly love; the extra height saves clicks on a scroll wheel while browsing content, and the keyboard is one of the absolute best I've ever used on a laptop - tactile yet soft-click, great feedback. Mouse pad is exquisitely tuned and minimizes false inputs from drooping palms very well. Wish the keyboard lighting got brighter; it's a single-panel lighting element and it doesn't get bright enough across the board, IMO. The webcam wasn't a thing I particularly cared about but it's decent enough, and Windows does a fantastic job recognizing my face for a lightning-fast unlocking process. All in all, this is an absolute no-brainer if you're in the market for a highly portable gaming laptop - wait for it to go on sale and dive on it! Can't beat the power/portability ratio without spending literally thousands more, and you're STILL going to make compromises. Well done ASUS!

Great overall laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The performance for the size of this laptop is astonishing. it checks every box i need it to, and keeps up with my full size gaming PC. The battery life isn’t great, although still good. That’s what i’d expect from a laptop of this size with these specs. If you’re wondering if you shoudl buy it, you should. As for people complaining about temperature, just keep it in silent mode and it will still perform and stay cooler than other modes. I have yet to have it overheat in any mode though, the cooling system is adequate.

Hard to beat for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent machine even though I returned it for a M16 with a 4070. Battery life is unmatched. However if you plan on using Davinci Resolve on this you should look elsewhere. It crashes constantly and this is what made me return it for a Intel/Nvidia machine.

Excellent Device!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is very incredible! The unboxing experience is great; the laptop lifts up when opening the box. I do not have any QC issues, and everything is working smoothly so far. The RX 6700S is very capable and can play Forza Horizon 5 on Ultra graphics at QHD. Battery life can be 8+ hours when the refresh rate is set 60hz and the dGPU is disabled. The only thing I dislike is the keyboard backlighting; it is too dim and doesn't have good contrast with the keys.

Great laptop but frustrating
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop was good at first but then it started to crash or just go into sleep mode and not turn on unless I press and hold the power button, I called best buy on this, but they led me to ASUS and ASUS just puts me on hold for an hour then ends the call. The laptop was recommended to me by a friend, so we bought ours around the same time but his has also had issues for the past 4 months and for a $1200 laptop this is really annoying because I just can't go and get a new one since i don't have a warranty with best buy. Like I said when the laptop works it's awesome but when it doesn't it's just a pain.

Good laptop, bad charging
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance has been good, but as of recently either the charger or the charging port has been giving me issues. Not entirely sure which is the problem. But overall a fantastic laptop.

Awsome!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been using this laptop and i reallly enjoy it. A lot of power in a small package. Just make sure you dial in the setting before you start playing AAA games. Also buy a fan stand for it. It runs a little warm but over all its a great buy. I highly recommend it

Asus build quality, customer service are very poor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this laptop for almost 2 months, this is my second unit. I returned the first one because it wasn't registering key presses. The second unit seemed fine at first, keyboard worked well, screen is excellent and computer is very fast. The problem started when I upgraded the network card (there's a common complaint with the included wifi/bluetooth card) so I decided to update to an intel card, I also upgraded the RAM that wasn't soldered to 32gb for 40gb total, while I was putting the case back in, a small piece of plastic that hooks under the case broke off, not that big of a deal but it was only just the beginning. At this point, I had opened the bottom of the case twice. My unit all of a sudden stopped booting up and through trial and error, I figured out the RAM I had added was bad so I put the stock RAM back in. When I went to put the case bottom back on, another piece of plastic broke off, this time on the corner and it was a visible chip in the bottom, while trying to fix it and glue it back to the case, the entire piece where the screw mounts into on that corner broke off so I had to glue that as well. I contact Asus support and they informed me they don't carry spare parts, the entire unit would have to be replaced but I could take it into Best Buy and they would repair it. I took it into Best Buy and the Geek Squad tech told me they couldn't repair it, all they could do was ship it to Asus and it would cost several hundred dollars to repair. I wanted to like this laptop but after having to replace the first one and then all these issues with the second one along with the poor customer service from Asus, I had to give this 1 star. I searched for this issue on Google and it seems to be common for the 2022 version of this laptop. I doubt Asus cares anymore since they're already on to selling the 2023 version.
