Part of the problem was the large television came down close to the fireplace mantel. The sound echoed off it. The sound bar took care of the effect. The Geek Squad thought that through and solved the problem.

I have a Klipsch 9.2.4 in my basement, Samsung - HW-A650 3.1ch Sound bar in my living room that I'm happy with. So, when I was helping my MIL to get a sound bar for her TV, I thought that this would be perfect...It is not! All it needed to do is make the voices clearer and louder. I tried all different settings and they all suck. I thought it might be the room setup. So I took it to my house where I already have a sound bar. I played with it and listened to it for about 2 days and realized that it sucks! Unfortunately, it's past the return time and it works so I can't return it! Very disappointed with Samsung for this particular bar!

To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: DTS VIRTUAL:X, STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE.
When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER speaker using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6. If the Rear Speakers (sold separately) are connected, the setting “Rear Level” is supported.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the TONE CONTROL button using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote between -6 to +6.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to "Standard".

I bought an open box item and didn’t notice it is dented in the front until it was installed. It would be a good practice to indicate if there is an damage on open box items offered for sale.
