Ive had them on my wish list for a while and I finally pulled the trigger and I dont regret it at all. The customization is honestly the best feature and really sets them apart from competitors. They are really loud and the sound is crisp. They are extremely comfortable to wear and arent heavy on the head at all. The ear cushions are great as well and have a nice seal.

These headphones are my lifesavers, I have bad auditory issues and these headphones are really great with their noise cancellation, I love how they sit around my ear and they do an amazing job masking out the background noises, I also love that there is an app that allows me to choose just how much background noise I’d like to hear! They’re truly the best headphones I’ve owned and I highly recommend them! I get about 24 straight hours of battery life from them and they are almost fully charged within 30-45 minutes!

The bass is nice and deep and can get really loud. It’s also has the same controls in android/ios. The noise cancellation is really great and same with the transparency. Battery life… Amazing! It even gets 3 hours of playback in just 3 minutes. The touch controls are also really easy to navigate and with just one hand over the cup of the right earphone can turn the music down and turn into transparency mode. It also can detect your ear and pause any playback when you take them off.

Not right for me

After reading that you might wonder what would possess me to return these. I do a massive amount of reading, note taking, and typing. Every time I looked down to read a book, or write notes my music would pause and the headphones switched to transparency mode. Nobody I talked to could figure out how to stop this from happening. I hope my experience was an anomaly, but I wasn't willing to chance it again, so back they went.

Perfect Headphones

I work from home and my office is in the livingroom, sometimes the family comes to watch TV and the sounds get loud. I turn on noise cancellation and im able to take my training, receive zoom calls without interruption. Then when im done with meeting i turn it off and reengage with my family. They are light and not discomforting on your head. I love that they keep a charge almost three to five days, before i charge.

The foam padding on the ear cup is incrediblly comfortable. I often wear these up to 12 hours at a time with only slight discomfort near the end. My only complaint is that they don’t fold up like the xm4s did into a small case. They dont not fold at all so the case is somewhat bigger now. So, a small hit on portability.

Sound Quality The audio is phenomenal—deep bass, crisp highs, and a balanced midrange. Whether I’m listening to podcasts, classical music, or EDM, everything sounds rich and immersive. The LDAC support really makes a difference when streaming high-res audio. Noise Cancellation Sony wasn’t kidding when they said “industry-leading.” I use these on my commute and in coffee shops, and they block out everything from chatter to traffic noise. The adaptive noise canceling is smart enough to adjust based on where I am, which is super convenient. Calls & Connectivity Call quality is crystal clear. I’ve taken Zoom meetings and phone calls with these, and people say I sound better than when I use my phone directly. Multipoint Bluetooth is a lifesaver—I switch between my laptop and phone without any hiccups. Comfort & Design They’re lightweight and feel luxurious. The ear cups are soft and don’t cause fatigue even after hours of wear. I do wish they folded like the XM4s, but the flat-fold design

I have worn these continuously for 3+ hours on calls and also for music and the battery is amazing so far. You need to get used to the touch gestures but takes no time to het familiar with them. Recommended heaphone of the year

Microphone quality is great especially when outdoor when its windy. Controls take a while to get use to sometimes when tapping headphone it dosent respond as quick but still works. Comfort is 10/10 especially those who wear ear piercing could wear them all day. Noise cancellation is very great tested with a loud fan next to me and could hardly hear a thing. Overall would recommend product and for the price range is good.

The headphones play audio perfectly and when I use them I can’t hear anything else. The headphones quality are really good and they are really comfortable. Over 2,000 Five Star Reviews: I'll Add One More

I was actually going to buy another set of new Bose headphones until I read professional reviews comparing the Sony XM5 to the Bose QuietComfort Ultra. Both are top tier in noise cancelling, sound quality, comfort, and build quality. In every review, however, the Sony XM5's got the edge. I've always been very satisfied with other Sony products I've purchased over the years going all the way back to the 1970's, so I decided to switch teams on this purchase. I have to say, I am definitely very pleased with my choice. Using the Sony Headphones iOS app, I spent some time tweaking the EQ to get the sound to my liking. For me, the magic combination was selecting the Bright option and then bringing the Clear Bass up to +5. That said, with the EQ off right out of the box, these have a nice mellow, even tone that is very pleasing as well and probably closer to audio perfection than my choice. For my older ears, though, my tweaks help me hear my tunes the way I was able to without EQ when I was in my 20's. Last, but not least, I'd like to respond to some of the negative build quality comments I've read. I really have no idea how anyone ends up with broken headphones other than to completely abuse these bad boys. They are solidly built yet very light weight. All products have their limits, of course, but after several months of continuous use, I can't see how any of the components would fail without serious mishandling by the user. So yeah, with over 2,000 five-star reviews do I really need to add one more? No, but when you find something that's worth a positive review, it never hurts to put it out there. Enjoy!
