This is a first Shark Air Purifier that I've had the pleasure of using. I do own several shark vacuums that work like a charm. I was interested to see if the two were comparable. I was not disappointed. This air purifier is spec'd to purify up to 500 sq ft so we popped it in an area where we keep our golden doodle. Although the breed of dog we have does not shed much at all, we still experience more than normal dust and dander in the area where he sleeps. Upon turning it on, I discover that the air purifier is very easy to use and could be used by a novice or elderly person to get True Hepa clean air in their area. The air purifier is small and quiet but sucks a ton of air which you can feel just by holding your hand over it. The Purifier told me my air was about 85% when turning it on. I left it on high for about 2 hours and came back to it floating between 98-99%. Wow. After that I've been leaving it on auto so that it turns itself on and off when needed. It also tracks 3 different particulates PM1, PM2.5, and PM10. The only thing I would enjoy having is a wifi connection to monitor the air quality thru an app, however I know that would likely increase the cost and effect the ability for some to be able to use it. I know it would be easier for my grandmother to use this than for me to come over and hook it up to wifi and have to troubleshoot any issues. Filters are said to last 6 months to a year depending on your usage. Filters on the shark website range from $60-$70 depending on the kind you choose so factor that into your cost after 1 year. For the cost and value I think Shark has hit another one out of the park with this little guy and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful purifier that can clean a 500 sq ft area without the wifi/bt bells and whistles.

I have a few air purifier units around the house and wanted one for my office. It’s one hundred square feet or eight hundred cubic feet. The unit states it will cover up to 500 sq. ft., so I figured this would be perfect for the space and the adjacent hallway. I unboxed the unit and all I needed to do was unscrew the bottom cap, unbag the filter, reinstall it and plug the unit in. Turning the unit on, I was surprised how quiet it is in high-speed mode. Most of my other units are really quiet in every mode except full speed. It seems at full speed, manufacturers decide you’ll live with the noise, but not the Shark unit. The noise is there, but it's easy to live with. I also like the small size of the unit. It takes up little floor space and is easy to move around the house should I need it elsewhere. As I said, I use a few HEPA filter units and a DustMagnet throughout the house. I live in the desert of Southern California and have allergy issues. My doctors say I should move, but just about everywhere has grass, dogs, cats, evergreens, and all my other allergies, so these purifiers are a lifesaver. I like the easy-to-see air quality colors on the unit. They are a large ring, about two ½” around the display making it visible from across the room. This one was blue out of the gate and has been 98-100% since. It also has the Clean Sense IQ to adjust fan speed as needed, but I prefer to just turn it on when I’m in the room and it does an excellent job. Having the auto-adjust is a nice feature should I want to run it overnight while I sleep. I’d recommend this to a friend or anyone with allergy issues. With its HEPA filter’s ability to capture micro-sized particles and sensors that measure particle sizes PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, allergy sufferers like me can rest easy knowing our living spaces are less likely to make us sick.

The Shark Air purifier brings a peace of mind that not many products do. With the Shark Air Purifier with True HEPA you get to filter out the pollen, allergens and particles that cause many issues. For me my allergies are very bad with pollen season seemingly all year round in Florida. Once I opened the box it was very simple to setup and get going. I found a perfect location out of the way from everything else in the room giving it ample room to work and collect. I left it on for a few nights and noticed I wasn’t waking up sneezing or having severe congestion. I was able to breathe better and sleep much more comfortable. The minimized effects of pollen for me was noticeable but was also felt by my family who noticed their congestions and reactions to pollens were reduced. Based on these facts I actually purchased a larger unit for the family room. This product made me a believer and loving the results this has on my home and my health. If you are looking for something to help filter out the pollen and other particles in your home get the Shark Air Purifier with True HEPA.

    Cleaner Air

I am really impressed with this air purifier. A few key things I like is the fact the filter is expected to last up to a year before needing replaced. A lot of these filters require 3-6 month pops at a hefty price. This unit automatically adjusts to the allergens in the air, if you want to test it. Burn a piece of toast in the toaster with this nearby. The clean percentage drops quickly. I have noticed this when dogs walk near it and other items when added into the room I have it in. The purifier will do a 500 sqft room pretty quickly. It runs for about 10 minutes before it quiets down after it reached 100% cleaned. You can scroll through the different results with the info button on the screen. You can see how long you have on the filter, clean percentage and other stats. I have noticed a definite change in air quality, especially now in the spring with pollen being so high. I moved the unit from my office to one of the bedrooms and within a hour I was doing the allergy sneezes. It definitely work as advertised.

It works. It's got the filter life so you know when to change the filter. Given ea. filter last a year but the amount of dust and particles it pulls from the air is amazing! It does a good job from keeping me from sneezing. PS: I always recommend buying the oem shark filters as the 3rd party off shoots just don't do the filtration that well.

    OK Purifier

Purifier seems to work good. The first couple of days, the system said I was receiving 98-99% purified air, occasionally dropping into the 80s when we would cook or light candles. After we were done cooking or put out the candle, the Shark would slowly return back to the 98-99% range. Then, after the first few days, the purifier dropped into the 70s and no matter where we place it in the house, it stays in the yellow and low 70s. We moved it to our hair salon into a smaller room, same thing. Constantly fluctuating around the low 70s. So, I can not really tell if it is correct or not but it did seem to purify the air, and I could tell in the smaller rooms. Controls are easy to use and read. Getting to the filter is a breeze. The Shark is pretty quiet, not overly loud but the fan would kick in and the audible noise did make me think we had left an appliance of some sort on and I would go into the kitchen area to make sure. Overall, I like the purifier. Easy to set up, small enough to hide in a corner and it seems to do an ok job.

Saved Me From a Weekend of Sneezing 'n' Scratching

This thing is awesome! I got it because I was on a trip visiting a friend who has cats, and I'm severely allergic to the cute little things. Kept having sneezing and itching attacks despite the fact that the room, sheets, etc. had just been deep cleaned and the cats weren't allowed in. Swept and re-washed the sheets once more, then ran out to buy an air purifier because I had heard from my brother (who lives with cats and is allergic) that getting one completely changed his life. He couldn't have been more right! By the third day all allergy symptoms were gone, and I could live life free of allergens (as long as I stayed in that room). It worked really well for me, and even though I'm not sure how accurate it is, I loved watching the percentage of clean air, and then getting to flip through the different kinds of particles in the air (pollen, smoke/dust-sized, allergens). Definitely worth the last minute purchase! And after doing a little bit of research on air purifiers I got scared that, in my haste, I would accidentally buy one that releases the toxic... something into the air. Low and behold- this one is cited as being very safe! Definitely thnk you get your bang for your buck.

So having a family member that has significant allergies, this time of year is challenging. We want the windows open to get the great fresh air, but that brings in the sneezes and sniffles. Mix in the concerns with everything else in the air, we decided to upgrade our air filter in our master bedroom to this one. and overall it has been great. First, extremely easy to setup. out of the box, you simply need to remove the plastic on the filter, put it back in... and you are ready to go. Plug it in tap the button, and it is going. Took it about 3 minutes to identify the current level of the room, and it did it's thing. the fan is nearly silent, you can't hear it. The only way I heard it is sitting right next to it, turning off everything else of sound in the room, and really focused in. Just can't hear it. In the first night, we woke up to it being 100%... good to go. As for the allergens and other things.. so far so good. multiple nights with the windows open ,no issues. We will see if it continues the same way, and minimized other health items. But so far so good. The ONLY nit pick, and maybe I am missing something... is the blue glow from the control panel. it is bright, so we had to turn the unit 180 degrees, so it faced the wall, to minimize the light in the room. Other then that, no issues. One downside that this, and all other similar devices... the filter. eventually we will need to get a replacement filter, and looking right now... only once place to get them. so we will see what happens when that day comes

It runs very quietly. It's easy to operate. It did not take a lot of time to think. That's what I like best. I recommended it to my family member. It's light, the old people like me can carry it any room that I want to put. I do not know where to buy the filter in the future.

I have a historic loft and one of the things I struggle with most in the space is air purification. While I have some larger units in other areas of the loft, I wanted an air purifier that was capable of covering the square footage of my home office only. In looking around I found that the Shark was one I'd never seen before but a brand I've trusted with other aspects of my household for many years now. Right out of the box I found that this unit was extremely easy to use. For setup, you simply turn the handle on the bottom to access the air filter, unpackage it, screw it back in and off you go. The automatic function on the unit "reads" the air and sets the fan speeds according to what's going on in the air around you. This is great compared to other units I have that seem to only run at one speed - full blast - and the unit is whisper quiet while it's doing its thing. You have real time visualization of air health using the percentage display on the front of the unit as well as touch buttons across the top for when you want to take over the functionality manually. All in all I would say that this unit is a great value for the price and is very much a "set it and forget it" type of product that should be very easy to use and maintain.

I have another Shark air filter that's a much larger floor unit. It's been working really well for a while now in my dining room area which is a fairly large room with a pretty open space leading to the living room. This is turning out to be a great addition to use in a smaller bedroom while still getting the same good performance. Setup is a breeze like is usually the case with air purifiers. There are a bunch of labels everywhere telling you to make sure you open up the unit to take the filter out of the bag before you begin operating it. This takes about a minute and you're ready to go. Plug it in and it started up in automatic mode for me. This smaller unit seems to take care of the same number of particles as the larger one we have does. You have multiple information displays that you can toggle between that tells you how many of each particle size are currently detected, how long it'll take to finish cleaning, or the current % of "air quality" you have. One feature this unit has that my larger one doesn't (which I really wish it did because my toddler really likes to press buttons) is a lock button. You can press and hold the lock button to lock the rest of the buttons from being triggered. This would do wonders to prevent my daughter from accidentally turning the fan up to max because she likes the way it makes beep sounds when she touches it. Just like my larger unit, this does a good job cleaning the air. It's rated for 500 sq ft and the room I'm currently using it in is probably close to that size and it doesn't have any problem keeping it clean. If you're in the market for a nice, small air purifier, this one might be a good fit for you if it falls in your budget. I've had good success with Shark brand air purifiers and am happy this one lives up to my expectations.

This is my third Shark air purifier (2nd 500) since late November. The other is the one with the five year filter. Because I was pleased with the more powerful purifier for our 1st floor I added a 500 for our finished basement a month later and then a 2nd one for an upstairs bedroom this month. More comfortable breathing and less coughing are my benefits.
