They appreciate the clear and immersive sound, comfortable and secure fit, long battery life, ability to hear their surroundings, lightweight design, and innovative bone conduction technology. Can still hear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great! This is my 3rd pair. I work in commercial construction. So I have to be able to hear my surroundings. But I also must have my music to keep my sanity. These do both. The reason they are my 3rd pair is because I admit that I am really rough on things. But they seriously have taken a beating ñ.

A unique product for a unique purpose
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first bone conduction headset, and you quickly learn is that they are a different breed. Even though the OpenRun Pro has enhanced the low-end response, this technology still doesn’t give the same bass as conventional in the ear or on the ear headphones. They are marketed as sport or runner headphones because they are, in fact, a different breed. They are completely open ear which means you still hear and are aware of your environment. That’s a real need for runners, bikers, and those who need to be aware. So, what about the sound quality? As stated, the bass is adequate but still less than buds and other headphones. However, the midrange and highs are excellent. These frequencies are crisp and clear with zero muddling. Lyrics are easy to hear, and this makes for very pleasant listening. It’s pleasant enough that you easily accept the weaker low end … unless that’s the predominant feature of your music preference. There’s just no pounding bass. Built quality is top-notch. They are water-resistant but not waterproof. They are very light and comfortable. The only drawback to the behind-the-neck loop is if you are sitting and leaning back against a headrest. But hey, they’re marketed for sports use and not sofa surfing. The controls are simple, tactile, and easy to use. The charging cable does use a proprietary magnetic connection, so if you’re traveling, that means an additional cable to carry along. There’s a protective hard case provided that protects the headphones and has a nice little spot to secure the cable. The bottom line is that these are a product with specific features tailored to specific uses. If you want complete openness and total awareness of your surroundings, they are a superb choice … perhaps the best in the field.

Great audio with great situational awareness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shokz OPENRUN PRO premium 9th generation bone conduction open-ear sport headphones are great. I have used past generations that were good, but these go beyond anything I have heard so far. They have two added bass enhancers (TurboPitch™ Technology) with excellent situational awareness along with a super comfortable open-ear fit. OpenRun Pro sends vibrations into your inner ear through LeakSlayer™ technology to reduce sound leakage, leaving your ears open for good situational awareness while still providing private listening. The OpenRun Pro uses 9th generation bone conduction (Shokz TurboPitch™️ with built-in CoreCushion low frequency enhancement technology) and gives better bass than other bone conduction headphones I have used. One size seems to "fit all" without need for interchangeable earpieces and the fit is very comfortable for me (also they are SO LIGHT WEIGHT). The titanium "frame" is small, flexible, attractive, durable, unobtrusive and easy to pack. The OpenRun Pro has an IP55 water-resistant rating and handled my sweat with no problems. I got over 10 hrs. of play time from a charge (they can also be quick charged for extended use). It is great they have a long play time because you can wear them for a long time!!! – NICE!

Outstanding headset, cutting corners now
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent headset. Fully recommend this to anyone who is active or wants to listen to music/talk while working. It's important to note these are not designed to offer you the best quality sound that rivals some of the best earphones out there. This is a compromise between good (just not great) sound and functionality. I have owned a pair that was from AfterShokz prior to the name change and I was very impressed with the product. I consider myself a closet audiophile and this product offers the perfect balance of good sound with the functionality desired for a safer, active lifestyle. Tl;Dr: Great product. Good sound, just not great. Not meant to provide the best quality sound but compared to something from Sennheiser, Apple, or Sony. 4/5 since the company is clearly starting to cut corners with fewer included accessories. Setup: Quick and easy. There's an app for further control which is nice and allows for further controls beyond the norm. Fit: I have at least an average sized and normal shaped head. The standard fit was perfect. Compared to the previous Aeropex which had two sizes and was overall a poorer fit, they have improved significantly with this model. Use: Great battery, I used it for 3 hours continuous without fatigue then left it on for 3 more hours at maximum volume (for testing) and the battery did not run out. The sound quality is excellent for bone conduction. With a background in understanding the difference between bone and air conduction, I am very impressed. It's extremely impressive to offer such a product at this price point. For music, I used this during a workout and then during outdoor work. Having the ability to maintain my situational awareness is extremely beneficial. The level of safety that increases with this product is quite impressive. For talking, the same applies. I am able to do my outdoor work without being isolated from the surrounding environment. Overall: I highly recommend this product. I do not believe they are heading in the right direction but cutting simple things like an additional charging cable and wall plug. This is a non-proprietary charger so losing the extra cable is quite unfortunate. For the price, they a subpar in sound and performance to the best headphone / earphone companies. However, for the product, they are impressive. Cutting corners is a step in the wrong direction.

Bone Induction done pretty well!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Suprising good open headset! For a bone induction set. Yes the base is basically non existant but the clarity is pretty well done. I was suprised by the clarity! If you have your volume pumped up, a person next to you can hear some noise, but not the lyrics. The headset comes with a case!! I love when companies do this. A carrying case is always welcomed rather than just stuffing it in ones pocket. The use of this headset is pretty explanatory, but comes with a learning curve when using it's button and and volume rocker. They do work, but not intuitive. The only negative is that if you have thick hair like my wife, this headset needs to be worn under ones hair to comfortably wear the headset as intended. Keep that in mind. Wearing with glasses is fine and doesn't get in the way. I recommend this if you are looking for an open eared headset. But if you are looking for bass in your music, these are definately not for you.

Good For Workouts But Not Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The case the headphones come with are very sturdy. They do a good job protecting the headphones and provide enough space to fit the headphones, charging cable, and a small wall plug if you wanted to keep everything together neatly. Set up is very easy; charging is intuitive and it was very easy connecting the headphones to both my apple and android devices. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand. The headphones don't go inside your ears but instead near the inside. This eliminates the need for specific earbuds that fit your ear size. They fit comfortably around my head and didn't slip off even during intense workouts. I wore them while running, doing push ups, yoga, and even part of a basketball game I was playing. They were so comfortable I sometimes forgot I was wearing them. The various buttons on the outside of either end allow the user to accept and hang up on calls, pause and play music/whatever you're listening to, turn volume up and down, and skip or go back on songs. These are pretty standard controls for wireless headphones. There are only 2 drawbacks I could find. First, other people will hear your music if you like to listen to your music loud. Either end of the headphones go outside the ear and not inside, so sound will leak out if your volume approaches the 70% volume (this is an estimate). However, if you're running or in a gym then this may not bother you. The other downside is that these don't fit comfortably with sunglasses all the time. I wear regular everyday glasses and while the headphones didn't come off or slip down, they were more noticeable than when I wore them without my glasses. Sunglasses make it less comfortable, so might not be the best option if you like to wear shades while running during the day. Overall, these are great headphones for someone who likes to listen to music while working out. I actually also use them in my every day life outside of workouts, such as when I'm cooking or on my way to work, because they're so comfortable. Again, these might not be the best if you prefer your sound loud, but other than that these are great. 9/10 would recommend.

Wife loves these for her workouts!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value and sound. I like the off the ear approach since it allows for just enough attention to surrounding. I had the previous version (After Shocks)and ran over them with a car, they still worked but a bit garbled. A plus is this versions prompts and you turn it on etc are in english version a oriental type laungage.

I would buy this for friends and family
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really great product. Great for cooking, running, jogging, outdoors activities and commutes. I do find them not loud enough during some activities like yardwork or biking (the wind can drown out the sound. Raking leaves can drown out the sound). But over all great product. Battery life is surprisingly long.

Finally the headphones for me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally a comfortable Pair of Headphones. The fit, even with glasses is comfortable and doesn't wear on you over the day and I wear these for long periods of time to listen to music/audio books while I work. I like the fact these don't cover my ears and I can hear the environment around me like work emails. Additionally since they don't cover my ears/go in my ear canal it makes wearing them all day much easier.without having sweaty ears or ill fitting ear pods. Since they are designed for running/workout they have a special cable that is magnetic for charging. On the plus side its easy to fit and charge the device as the magnet connects easily to the headphones and disconnects just as easy. It also means you won't bend a smaller USB plug. The downside is, it is a custom cable, so don't lose it. The case they provide is also great, its sturdy enough to go in a bag without worry and hold your cable. That was nice touch Setup was very easy paired with my phone no issue and they have two sound modes for music and spoken word. Both sound great and clear. I can get through my work day with them on no problem, so I get a good 9 hours or so with them which is great. I enjoy them and happy with and their fit. Highly recommend them if you want something comfortable to wear while working out or at work and for long periods.

So Far So Good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are excellent for people whom have a difficult time with ear buds. They are also great for those who exercise and need/want to hear what is happening around them. I like them but wish I could easily use the volume buttons on the Shokz themselves. I find it much easier to do this on the phone.

Perfect "new style" headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was interested in this style for awhile. The one thing I hate about todays headphones is they block out exterior noise so well I cant hear anything going on around me. While working out or running, I don't like that I cant hear cars and traffic, other people trying to get my attention, etc. This pair of headphones solves that! I can hear people and cars, have conversations, and never miss a beat while wearing these. I actually have found myself wearing these more and more around the house while doing dishes, chores, etc... this way I can still enjoy the music or podcast I'm listening to but still hear my family while in the house or doing yardwork. I've only charged these once, and its still reading medium battery life. I'm impressed with that because I've been using these for over 3 weeks. The music and voices in podcasts sound really good to me! I'm used to wearing some very nice and very expensive headphones and have tried everything from JLab to Sony to Bose, so I know what to expect. The advantage of these is the ability to hear your surroundings. I wouldn't wear these on my upcoming flight, or while mowing the lawn as the exterior noise would drown out the audio.... but while working out, doing chores, or in the house I will choose these every time!

Quality Sound, Light weight, Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first open ear experience, and I was pleasantly surprised with the sound and clarity. I typically use pods when exercising or being mobile. These are so comfortable that I almost forgot that they were on my head. I was immersed in the sound which felt like I was in a room with a live stereo system. To me these are more mid to high range tone with a slight amount of bass so some richness of sound is lost, but, the clarity of the tone makes up for it. I also enjoyed a few phone calls with these, very clear. I would have liked to see at least 4 EQ selections instead of the 2 EQ's. It really depends on personal taste and intended use. The USB A charge cable end that connects to the phones has a Apple style power connection (magnetic) so the cable latches on with little effort, however, if cable is damaged or lost, leaves no alternative for charging. Best to purchase a 2nd cable if you plan on much use Just in case! Battery life for me was decent with approx 8.5 hours of use. I Love the storage case...Easy store, removal and protection. I gave 5 stars due to there are more positives than negatives here and would definitely recommend these for the convenience, lightweight, comfortable and sound quality that the Open Run Pros have to offer.

Great Bone Conduction Open-Ear Sport Headphones.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This are great Bone Conduction Open-Ear headphones but beware, they work better for what they're intented to do so normal in-ear earbuds should not be compared. These headphones are for those who like to listen to music while still being able to hear your surroundings ex. while exercising, running, skateboarding, driving, etc. They feel diferent than normal in-ear earbuds and work better while listening to actual music than when listening to let's say, someone talking on a podcast. Do not buy this product expecting more sound/power delivered right into your ear cause that will only defeat their intented purpose. These devices are meant for people who are on the go and still like to remain aware of ouside noise.
