Please ensure your headphones have the latest firmware update, as this can often resolve sound-related anomalies. You can check for updates using the Sony | Sound Connect app—consider creating a hearing profile!

We also understand your feedback on the physical buttons and the difficulty in quickly finding the fast-forward function. We designed the controls to be intuitive, but we recognize that the layout can take some getting used to. For your reference, to fast-forward you need to press the middle button twice quickly, holding the second press. We are absolutely thrilled to hear that the noise canceling on your WH-CH720N headphones is so effective—that's a wonderful compliment to our Integrated Processor V1!

We also completely understand that the complete absence of ambient sound can be a bit disorienting. That feeling of being "messing with your head" is precisely why we included the Ambient Sound Mode feature, which allows you to hear background noise while still enjoying your music.

To help you find that perfect balance, we recommend two things:

Use the NC/AMB Button: Press the NC/AMB (Noise Canceling/Ambient Sound Mode) button on your headphones to quickly cycle from Noise Canceling ON to Ambient Sound Mode ON.

Adjust the Level in the App: For the ultimate control, open the Sony | Headphones Connect app. Here, you can select Ambient Sound Mode and use the slider to fine-tune the exact level of background noise you want to hear—from just a tiny bit up to a level where you can have a conversation.
