When not plugged in to the power cord there is still a great performance from the laptop but obviously it works best when plugged in. The specs are great for a laptop and the efficiency is amazing. The top cover feels so good to the touch. I am able to play Diablo 4 at ultra high settings, QHD, with Quality DLSS at about 100 fps. With Balanced DLSS, it runs at 115+ fps. I also tried 1080p with Quality DLSS & ultra high, it runs upward of 170 fps. What a performance beast. When running at QHD, gpu temperature is higher than FHD. Since I can't tell the graphics difference between FHD & QHD, I kept my settings at 1080p for cooler temp and higher fps.

Asus Zephyrus - MacBook Pro competition

Got this after being fed up with Apple and the cost to replace a battery on my MacBook Pro. The Asus has a nicer keyboard in my opinion, more power, very cool white chassis, and dedicated GPu. All the while maintaining a thin and light! profile. (Not as thin as MPB but good enough that it’s very portable). I use it for software dev and gaming. On another note, windows Linux subsystem had come along nicely, no need to use Mac for a great dev environment anymore IMO.

Rock Solid Gaming Rig

Maybe not, so the sale made it particularly worth it. Plenty powerful, multiple performance modes for fan speed is an awesome feature, and the battery life is poor (as expected) while gaming, but doing web browsing and the like yields a much better life of around 7 hours for me, perfect for gaming on the go and getting through a school day on a single charge.

The battery is solid which is nice and charges fast, but it really is just too glitchy to recommend, with crashes doing simple uses, audio glitches, keyboard crashes, trackpad lag, screen blackouts. Get something else for the same $ but better value.

G14 - Good for it's form factor but not the best

Matte screen is good and battery life too, but not as good as macbook. I would suggest tonise G-helper instead of Asus armory crate. I l liked the laptop overall but it's heating sometimes irritates me

It is normal that excessive heat is generated while under heavy load especially during gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. It’s definitely portable but it has to come with its limitations. It gets very hot and the battery life is very little. It was my first gaming laptop and I was a bit let down. I would only recommend this laptop for less demanding video games.

GREAT GAMING LAPTOP

I went ahead and bought one and I have been blown away by the performance and quality of this gaming laptop. i have been gaming on QHD with max settings and i have been getting more then capable fps. you won't regret the purchase.

We have a really bad Internet connection here so a lot of times I just want something to watch a movie on, it works for that. Haven’t gotten to play any games on it yet I’ve tried it has been great.
