The bass response is surprisingly good. Battery life is impressive. The LCD display resolution and contrast are beyond my expectations. The chassis is lightweight yet solid. The start-up speed and app-loading speed are amazing, as I am accustomed to machines with mechanical hard drives.

I bought the 2022 mid-cycle and the 2023 at launch, so I've had both for some time now. ASUS likes to market themselves as a premium brand, and looking at this thing in person, it certainly LOOKS like it's premium... but over time issues begin to crop up. Without an external keyboard, this is useless for work scenarios, as I get keyboard input jitter on both versions. Keys will double press or will have delayed double input. Something like "Moon" will become "Moono", "as" will become a curse word, etc... Microsoft Editor disabled here to prevent corrections: Best Buy and ASUS support were both useless, effectively telling me they cannot reproduce the issue reliably and consistently, so they won't take it in for RMA / Repair. The Geek Squad guy actually told me I was better off bbreaking (SEE?) it or selling it to someone without disclosing theh (SEE?) issues, then buy a new one. Poor customer suupport (SEE?) here. IF you're buying this to set up as a desktop, with dedicated external mouse and keyboard, then you're probably good... but at this price, you can get a 12-16GB GPU and not settle for 8Gb. The chasis looks amazing, the keys feel good, theh (SEE?) trackpad is great, and the only game I had this struggle on was Gray Zone... but the typing issues cannot be ignored, and since neither party will accept this is an issue, all I can say is to avoid ASUS products due to sub-par quality control issues.

I purchased it after the MSI machine I'd been using failed at the tender age of 18 months. The ASUS runs everything I throw at it and responds quickly. Well, it did. Until I rebooted today because the game I was in was intermittently freezing. On reboot, I got the dreaded "S.M.A.R.T. status bad" message, and then it went to the BIOS screen. Looks like the SSD is dying or dead--and this machine is only 5 months old! I'm not hard on laptops; most of the time they're in clamshell mode on my desk, plugged into an external monitor. I'm taking it in for warranty repair tomorrow. It makes me nervous to have a drive fail this soon after purchase, especially with a respected brand like ASUS. Really hoping I didn't get a lemon.
