Secondly, even if you're just browsing the internet, the laptop gets quite warm, even hot, which is puzzling since the workload is not substantial. Thirdly, it's unclear in the modes. In the 'quiet' mode, all the fans kick in, and it's very loud But it's a superb and high-performance laptop

The fixes that are online are complex and the one offered by Dell is complex. Computer should come with functional command center.

We are sorry you are experiencing fan noise and battery performance issues with your Alienware m16 Gaming Laptop. Feedback like yours helps continue to grow and do better. We recommend using the TCC Offset Controller to help resolve fan noise issues. I have provided the steps below and the link to the video that can help guide you thru the process. I have also provided a secondary article that can help you improve the battery performance of your gaming laptop.
Using the TCC Offset Controller:
1. Controller is located in BIOS under CPU Management.
2. User can set TCC Offset value between 0 and 15
3. TCC Offset 0 = 100C Max CPU Temp
4. TCC Offset 15 = 85C Max CPU Temp
5. This feature, when available, impacts all USTT profiles.
6. This means that if the user were to change the value, it would be applied to Balanced, Cool, Quiet, and Performance Modes.
