Best laptop experience I’ve ever had, 10/10 screen

I’m a content creator who does 4K flight simulator videos. I wanted to see if it’s possible to use a laptop for such a task but it can’t due to the ultra 9. I noticed that the CPU bottlenecks the 4080M SEVERELY. In cpu demanding programs, expect 20%-30% GPU usage, and 30-50fps at the full 2560x1600. However, in non demanding but still intense games like warframe, you can easily max out the game and get 200+ fps at max resolution. It’s very surprising how much fps this thin laptop can produce at times Build quality is the best I’ve ever experienced, can pick it up by the edge with one hand. No flex, can take a beating, Made fully out of high quality metals. But I’d say the BEST thing about this laptop is the screen, oh my GOD, talking about AMAZING. 20/10 on the screen. I had to return mine but ended up keeping it for a month just because of the screen. I’ll never be able to use a non oled device again after this. You can use it in the dark and if you have a black background, it’s like the screen is off and your applications are just hovering in space. I can’t recommend this laptop enough to regular users. Not so much for my fellow high end creators, you’ll need a 4090M. it seems the ultra 9 is up to par with a non overclocked desktop i9-12900k and this laptop’s 4080 is equivalent to a 2080, maybe a 2070 Something that is inportant to me is audio drivers/hardware. A lot of desktops/laptops I used suffer from audio popping. This one has none of that and allows for extremely high bit rate audio too. ASUS nailed it with this one, they should’ve just put an i9 or amd cpu in it though... Would’ve been the best computer I’ve used in my life and I’ve done 2 3090/4090 desktop builds. Some people complain about the gpu tsp on these laptops, from my experience the tdp wasn’t an issue on both the cpu and gpu, cpu would just hit max load fast and cause the gpu to slow down as a result.

Amazing, may need cooling pad for longevity

This product is pretty darn good, I mostly play marvel rivals, modded Minecraft (a lot of mods + Shaders on high settings), and other miscellaneous games. This thing crushes them with ease so far. MR on max settings will run around 100-140 FPS, with some slight adjustments it will run closer to 200 fps. Minecraft with heavy mods runs around 150ish fps depending on if I’m flying or just walking. The OLED screen is very vibrant and beautiful as well. The only thing that I would hold against this laptop (and I am no expert) is that it does run high on temps. At first I had it on an elevated laptop stand with nothing in the middle for optimal airflow and with this it would run anywhere from 79-84c and now I have gotten a cooling pad for it as well which has helped a ton. It now runs anywhere from 69-75c when playing games for hours. Again I’m no expert but 84c seems high for having basically nothing underneath the laptop originally. Otherwise everything is pretty amazing so far, the display, the sound, the performance. If it’s on sale for anywhere around where I bought it at (2.2k) I’d say it’s worth it if you prioritize both performance as well as having an on the go laptop for work/school.

It is very light to compare with other gaming laptops. It has good OLED display, so it is good to watch or create videos besides playing games. Im surprised that the fan is not noisy even if I play honkai starail with full graphic options. Also, Ive heard that intel cpu (which is the only option for RTX4080 and 4090 models) is worse than HX370 of AMD, but trust me; it isn't that bad. The vapor chamber helps a lot. It wouldn't make fan cry for just browsing with multiple tabs on in chrome. Actually it's not that bad. With 50% brightness while working on System Verilog with mutliple edge and chrome tabs on, the battery lasted about 6hours. I think it is decent, considering that it is a gaming laptop. Also, I think the biggest thing that I'm most satisfied of unexpectedly is the speaker. The speaker is very great. It has rich sound.

Beautiful machine. Chassis feels premium almost like a MacBook Display is just incredible and performances in game are pretty good. Only big downside is the wifi speed. I’m usually around 500 mbps but this guy only does 100 for no apparent reason. Updated drivers and settings didn’t solve the issue, will continue investigating and hopefully get luckier.

OLED defeats versatility of a multi-purpose laptop

$2,699.99 is way to overpriced for this laptop, it has its good things, but the bad ones are a deal breaker for me so I will be returning my unit. It also doesn't make me happy at all that I had to pay the full price for a product with all these compromises, just because, for some reason, every other Zephyrus laptop has been getting discounted prices and sales, including both the G16 with 4070 and 4090, yet this is the only one that doesn't get the slightest discount, so no price match possibility whatsoever, so I much rather just send it back because back in October 2023 when it went down to $2,299.99 it made some sense, but I couldn't buy it then, but now, after Black Friday, Christmas, and even CES announcements, at $2,699.99 this laptop is just too overpriced and the cost doesn't make any sense. It is a shame that Asus didn't allow us to chose our preferred configuration, whether OLED or Mini-Led, or even just IPS. I'm very surprised that out of all the reviewers and owners, there's not a lot of tests that mention the image retention that happens to this OLED displays, I encountered it one day after spending 3 hours doing video editing and became worried, so started researching and did some tests that clearly showcase the issue, see attached images and video (https://youtu.be/63lG61BGoHA). The test performed that gave the results of the pictures is from https://screenburn.in/screen-image-retention-test/ I just followed the instructions and the image retention happened after just 5 minutes. OLED is gorgeous for constantly changing images like videos or games, which works nicely on TV's, but defeats versatility of a multi-purpose laptop, as, like me, many others are not always using it to watch videos or play games, maybe just about 10% of the time, because we mostly use it for productivity tasks, like spending multiple straight hours coding, writing, editing videos or audio, doing calculations on a spreadsheet or even just browsing the web, all of which have interfaces with tons of static UI elements, so "Hiding the taskbar" is just not enough to prevent future burn in. The laptop itself is very powerful and well designed, but it is only as strong as its weakest links, which are: Windows 11 and all its nonsense of hiding menus within layers of menus, also all the Asus bloatware, Armory Crate, and others that are supposed to help but just hog a lot of the laptop's resources and is always conflicting with Windows 11 for the control over the power plan settings like sleep and display timers and others; and finally, the OLED with the previously mention downsides. Perhaps this hardware would be a beast if it was paired with a Mini LED display, Windows 7 or 10, plus removing Armory Crate, MyAsus and all the bloatware and using G-Helper instead. Pros: - Beautiful build quality. - The hardware is very powerful. - Lightweight and very portable. - Better ventilation design than the M16 which blew burning hot air directly to the screen and hand if using a mouse, also the bottom has more holes for better air intake. - Gorgeous vibrant and accurate display. - Huge and comfortable track-pad. - Very comfortable keyboard. - Full sounding speakers, not yet like Macbook, but closest that any other windows laptop I've ever used. - Good amount of I/O ports, would've been perfect if it also had an RJ45 ethernet port. - The status lights are better placed in the back so unlike the M16, they don't draw attention with the reflection of the flashing towards the screen. - MUX Switch. Neutral: - I couldn't care less about the "Slash Lighting", seems kind of gimmicky to me, can be turned off but the laptop would look more stylish without it or with something more subtle. - My battery said it would last for 6 hours on the lowest settings, which is lower than advertised, but I don't mind since I mostly use it plugged in. Cons: - Too expensive bearing in mind it's drawbacks. - Gets too hot just siting idle in silent mode which makes it turn the fans on every now and then to cool it down even under low load. - OLED image retention and highly likely future burn in and panel degradation and dimming. - No Philips Head screws but less common ones to open the laptop. - Windows 11 and it's cumbersome UI that most of the times requires 3x the actions to get to the same menu you got with only one with Windows 7. - Armory Crate and Asus software gets confusing and overwhelming as there are a lot of similar options spread between both of them and even windows, they all should be be consolidated into a single centralized and simpler program, like G-Helper does.

Worth the gamble of an open box excellent condition. The sacrifice of power for portability was a driving force of upgrading my Gen 6 Legion 5 Pro. It still had great power and usefulness, but traveling for work was weighed down, literally so I wanted to get something newer, sleeker, lighter with a great screen. I highly recommend the G16. Battery life is good with tinkering using G-Helper.

I recently bought ASUS - ROG Zephyrus 32GB LPDDR5X - GeForce RTX 4080 - 1TB SSD - Eclipse Gray. It is a great laptop for running editing software such as premier pro and photoshop which I mostly use. It is also a great laptop for gaming, but would suggest the RTX 4090 for core gamers as it has more storage. Only minor thing I would suggest is to not update to the most recent Intel update available since it has glitch in it since it messes with the keyboard lighting as you cannot change it. It kind of sticks to a single color. Haven't had a problem with armory crate updates though. Keys are good quality but not as sturdy as you want it to be. Overall it is overall a compact lightweight gaming and designing laptop. Ps - It does get scratches on the body easy since it is metal, would suggest opting for a white color, if you are willing to pay an extra 300$.

ASUS Zephyrus G16 (2024) — Simply One of the Best Laptops Ever Made I’ve been using the ASUS Zephyrus G16 (2024) and I can confidently say: this is one of the best laptops on the market today. It perfectly combines extreme performance, premium design, portability, and cutting-edge technology in a way very few laptops can. Insane Performance With its powerful CPU and high-end GPU, this machine handles everything — AAA gaming, video editing, 3D rendering, multitasking — all without breaking a sweat. The performance is fast, stable, and incredibly smooth even under heavy load. Absolutely Stunning Display The 16-inch high-resolution OLED display is simply gorgeous. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, motion is ultra-smooth, and brightness is excellent. Whether you’re gaming, watching movies, or doing creative work — the screen is a joy to look at. Premium, Thin and Lightweight Design Despite its power, the Zephyrus G16 is surprisingly thin, light, and easy to carry. The build quality feels extremely premium — solid, clean, and modern. It looks and feels like a true high-end device. Excellent Cooling System ASUS did an amazing job with the cooling. Even during long gaming or heavy workloads, the laptop stays cool, stable, and consistent without major thermal throttling. Amazing Speakers & Keyboard The speakers are shockingly good for a laptop — loud, clear, and with real bass. The keyboard is comfortable, precise, and perfect for both gaming and typing. Final Verdict: The ASUS Zephyrus G16 (2024) is not just a laptop — it’s a masterpiece. It’s perfect for gamers, creators, and power users who want top-tier performance in a beautiful, portable, premium machine. Absolutely worth every dollar. Easily one of the best laptops of this generation. Highly recommended.

I used to use the Zephyrus G15 2021 with a RTX 3070. This is an upgrade in every aspect; from the screen to the graphics card. I have been using the G16 as my audio workstation and for gaming for about a year and I am very pleased with the results I've gotten. The build quality is also very premium and the front firing speakers are a welcome addition that I was honestly surprised at their quality. I'd suggest getting rid of Armory Crate and MyAsus apps and replacing with G-Helper as the bloatware is probably the only complaint i have with this laptop.

Solid laptop, top notch build quality, excellent diaplay, with one huge problem. This problem is the Armory Crate software. It has a mind of its own. I just got the laptop 2 days ago, and I have already had to do a factory reset on it. Got every thing back up and running last night did all the updates, then did the proper shutdown powered it off and went ro bed. This morning powered it on, after checking emails and stuff thought to check Armory Crate just to be sure. I hit the Armory Crate shortcut button and nothing. So launched the program from windows and it doesn’t show any option for Slash Lighting, switch off the Bootup sound, OLED Care, or Aura Sync. It says no compatible device found. I mean from last night to this morning, I didnt change a single setting. It’s because of this I am giving it a 3 star.

Great laptop that fits a lot of check marks and only some downsides. 240 hz, oled, and 2560 x 1600 creates a beautiful screen. I can run pretty much every game without issue, but the laptop gets hot. Make sure to download ghelper and reduce cpu wattage to lower temps while gaming (you can search how to do this easily). I love its small and compact factor, making it easy and quite less embarrassing to pull it out at a coffee shop to do work (vs. a thick heavy gaming laptop).
