Customers are saying

Customers praise the ROG Zephyrus G14's performance, stunning OLED display, and excellent battery life. Many appreciate its premium build quality, impressive speakers, and lightweight, portable design. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm under heavy use and that the RAM is not upgradeable. Concerns were also raised regarding the fan noise and the GPU's limitations in fully utilizing the high-resolution display.

    Great Laptop

Pretty compact laptop, plays my games rather well. Addressing the heating issues people are having, yes it gets hot. The hottest part is the top of the keyboard, where the vent is at. I don’t think people realize there’s a giant heatsink right there, and it’s supposed to get hot. Like any laptop, putting it on your lap will just exacerbate the problem. Temps are well within spec so I’m not terribly worried. I did end up swapping to a 4tb nvme ssd and a clean install of windows right out of the box. I do wish it came with more ram though; I literally only use it to play games and watch videos and my ram usage is always on the high side when sitting idle. The oled screen decidedly average for me. The lcd screen on my old hp spectre from 2020 feels like it has better colors. Fan noise is typical for a gaming laptop.

I bought this computer on here for $1300 four months ago. TLDR: This is the only computer I've ever bought that I didn't have buyer's remorse over --- Switching between silent & turbo modes on the fly is insanely useful (uninstall Asus and replace with GHelper, much more efficient); this makes it completely silent to take to class or work without bothering others. The turbo mode does cause the components to reach >80C and the fans do have to compensate, but I lower the wattage on the CPU to prevent overheating. If you dock the laptop to play with a monitor, I recommend keeping the screen open to let the heat dissipate through the keyboard, as I have had a couple dozen auto-shutdowns with the lid closed in a vertical stand. The screen on this laptop has received compliments from most of the people I work with; insanely color accurate, comparatively speaking, and the pixel density alone leads me to use the laptop screen more often than my monitor when playing games. Battery is about what I expected, and it does charge with USB-C as a backup if you forget the proprietary charger at home. The trackpad is slightly physical, but it is larger than that of the MacBooks and F10 quickly turns it off to prevent palm detection when using an external mouse.

This laptop is amazing for the buyer who wants sleek with power…the 16GB RAM that’s not upgradable is the downside Keep that in mind ..other than that it’s superb

Got this on sale for $1199 for an bday gift for my son. Outstanding laptop for the price. The only con is no availability to upgrade memory. I have the previous model and upgrade to 24 GB. This laptop will not disappoint & buy it on sale now!

Great performance and graphics. Does get hot so if you’re not gaming best to run it under low performance mode. Not exactly a laptop that you can put in your lap and watch a movie. Lightweight for its class

The closest to a Windows MacBook Pro akternative. The oled screen is superior to the MBP’s. Will run games on native resolution but it does run on the warm side.

Here are my pros and cons of this laptop. I will not be adding detail that you can readily find e.g. the laptop has good performance playing mostly every game. Pros: The main competitor of this laptop is razer's 14 inch laptop. This laptop is less expensive than the razer. One could argue that razer has a 240hz monitor while the asus g14 does not. However, I find that 240hz monitor (or higher hz) are for intense fps games like counter strike 2 for example. I would not play these intense fps games on a laptop to begin with rather a gaming pc, so not have 240hz did not really affect me since I just played more casual games. Thus, I think Asus's strategy for just sticking to 120hz oled was a good move. Cons: I don't know if this is a window's issue or my laptop. Sometimes when my laptop is asleep, I will press my track pad or keyboard and it will not turn on. I will have to press the power button(I know for certain my laptop is not shutdown). The trackpad is ok. My older laptop was the m1 mac book air and the track pad on that laptop felt much better. Conclusion: I am glad I picked this over the razer blade 14 since it was less expensive, and I think the disadvantages the asus g14 had did not really impact me that much. So far it is a great hybrid laptop for doing schoolwork and playing games(hybrid in the sense that it's not bulky like many other gaming laptops).

If you are thinking of switching from big clunky pc to sleek and efficient laptop, buy this one cause boiiiiii... this right here is it. best laptop with specifications fit for any gaming experience. Though I do suggest buying a cooling fan stand for it. Og cpu heat was 71 degrees Fahrenheit. My fan stand brought it to 50's. But overall amazing screen display and smooth refresh rate. I love it so much and it is so worth it.

This laptop is amazing. Just the like the old G14s, this laptop is the perfect blend of portability and performance in a nice small package. As always it needs tuning out of the box to reach its full potential, which sadly Asus' Armory Crate cannot provide. But luckily, G-Helper exists.

You can't go wrong with this laptop. The main reason for me to buy it was because of it's light weight, amazing build quality, OLED screen and top of the class speakers. It was perfect for my use case which involves some light gaming and coding. I got it at a good discount of $500 at BestBuy.

I’ve been using the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 for a while, and overall it’s one of the best balance laptops I’ve come across. The 14-inch size makes it super portable, but it still packs a punch with great CPU/GPU performance for gaming and creative work. The display is sharp, colors are vibrant, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everything smooth. Build quality feels premium too — slim, light, and easy to carry without looking overly “gamer-ish.” That said, there are a few trade-offs. The GPU isn’t running at full power like bigger gaming laptops, so while performance is strong, you won’t always hit the same frame rates as bulkier machines. Under heavy load the fans get loud, and the laptop can heat up, especially around the keyboard. Battery life is solid for everyday use (around 6–7 hours for browsing and work), but gaming off-battery drains it quickly. Also, you don’t get a lot of upgrade flexibility — RAM is mostly fixed, so it’s important to buy the spec you’ll need long term. If you want a laptop that blends portability, performance, and style, the Zephyrus G14 is an excellent choice. It’s perfect for people who travel, game, or do creative work on the go. But if you’re chasing maximum GPU power or all-day unplugged gaming, you’ll probably want a larger system.
