Apple TV Content Is Mostly Boring

The productions most oftentimes provide stellar visuals, immersive sound design but are lacking in original or even compelling storylines. It only has a few gems that seem worthwhile. Today, the landscape is flooded by the continual stream of new things to screen everywhere and at any time. Maybe that’s why they call it that. Traditional outlets, new wave studios, and creative rogues (cellphone cinematographers) are all elbows, competing in a very crowded space. Things always change. Viewership is changing. Apple doesn’t need this “branching out” endeavor to only to have to play ignored stepchild. It is not Netflix. It’s Apple - the company known for its innovation in the wider world of computing, e.g. laptops & phones & tablets. In house software and hardware integration has always been Apple’s strength; although media organization and utility was sometimes a sore point. Remember iTunes wasn’t great but worked well enough as an interface between iPod and your Apple desktop’s and laptops. We used them. With Windows, not so much. Today, Apple TV 4K set top box and accompanying TVOS are better in functionality than most smart tv operating systems (see https://youtu.be/6TI07doT1ow?si=GVFhHhKFJUefoab7). Apple, work on those things that people know you for: integrated devices and software (foldable phones, AR headsets, set top boxes); so that we can use them for content we want to watch.
