Geek squad is always a yes for us. Love the customer service and the vast knowledge of the “geeks” that come out.

Didn't help my with anything, they couldn't repair hinges of a laptop, so they refunded the laptop purchase price, which didn't even cover the equal replacement value, since the equal value laptops were more expensive. Blamed me for the hinges, an didn't refund this geek squad repair. Not really worth it.

So far the folks at Geek Squad have been great. Now I’m about to find out how good the actual warranty is because the refurbished aka Re-BSed computer keeps breaking down and I’ve only had it since late July.

I’m not saying we buy protection plans on everything, but there are certain items you purchase that it’s worth getting it even if you never have to utilize it. Because there’s always that one time. We’ve had that one time and Best Buy’s Protection Plan are reasonably priced and extremely hassle free. Protect the items and also use common sense on the items you should get a protection plan. That would be my recommendation to people.

I haven’t had to have geek squad fix the laptop I purchased but I have had them fix my old iPod touch years ago and I really loved how well they communicated with me and kept me updated!

Best Buy determined my laptop met the criteria for replacement, since it completely failed after about 4.5 months of use. However, these warranties are STORE CREDIT or REPLACEMENT ONLY. The terms — which aren’t well presented and are buried in 500+ Q&A entries or an obscure online PDF — show that they do not do cash reimbursement. This is disingenuous. When you’re buying the warranty, the product page proudly lists all the benefits, but never mentions that they don’t do cash or check reimbursement. Why hide that fact unless you don't want people to see it? And it gets worse. The warranty (depot) people tell you to talk to the store for anything even remotely related to replacement or reimbursement. When you talk to the store, they tell you that if you want any change in your warranty reimbursement or resolution, you need to talk to the depot. It’s absurd, anti-consumer, and dubious. At best. And here’s another one: if you call your local store number— you get the main call center. You have to press the right buttons in the automated menu to talk to the right person in the right department, who will then transfer you to the store. Yes, you are, in fact, meant to get the runaround. They just want you in THE STORE. I will tell everyone: do not buy anything that requires a warranty from Best Buy. Valuable products need warranties, and once you buy one from them, you’re trapped in their ecosystem and forced to keep doing business with them in the future. If you want a warranty for the replacement?? You’ll be right back on this page again.

I have only tried to use the Geek Squad service, so this review is based on that. I used the live chat feature to contact the Geek Squad right after setting up my computer. I asked for help with the lighting when I used the camera. It seemed like it should be an easy fix for someone familiar with the computer. I was told I would have to take my computer in for service, and was given a number to call to set that up. I wasn't interested in traveling 45 miles to the nearest Best Buy, so worked on trying to fix the issue myself. I think I have resolved the problem, but I would have appreciated some help without a two-hour travel time.

Im not sure what i am reviewing since the app didnt actually specify. The items i purchased were a lenovo legion laptop, the geek squad warranty, a gaming chair, a desk, and h&r block tax software. All wonderful so far.

This is an essential service, if you are a computer hardware person if you are a layman. Get this. If there’s a problem they will fix it or replace it.

The Geek Squad is on top of thier game. I broke the screen on my new HP ENVY and brought it in to the fellows on the Squad. The guy was friendly and understanding. He got the paperwork done quickly and got me taken care of in a timely fashion. I have no trouble tracking the progress of the status of the repair. I totally satisfied with the whole the process. Thank you Geek Squad!!! GO GEEK SQUAD!! Y'ALL RULE GEEKLAND!!

Purchased on my last laptop and it came in handy the battery lost full charge...had to have the battery replaced and specific keys got really worn and got them replaced. Did all this before the 3 year. They send out so it took almost 3.5 weeks before I got back but it saved me money.

got this for my new laptop, gives a peace of mind in case something happens.

I had locked up my laptop, trying to download a program that I didn't realize wasn't compatible with what my computer was meant for..they took it right away and I picked it up the next day

Peace of mind to Buying Geek Squad protection so you don't have to worry.

No chance to use it. But it is for my daughter’s Chromebook. Usually it is easy to use if any problems with electronic products from Bestbuy. No worries if need repair.
