    Poor Customer Service and Excessive Time Delays

    I dropped my laptop off at my local Best Buy location after I had dropped my device for a simple screen replacement. At the time, I was told that my device would be repaired and returned to me within 10 days. This was not the case however. One month after dropping off my laptop at Geek Squad repair services and many frustrating phone calls, I was told that my device was not able to be repaired. Best Buy provided me with a new laptop to replace my previous laptop but told me that my warranty was then voided and told me that if I wanted a new warranty, then I would have to purchase one at full price. Overall, this was a frustrating experience given that my device needed only a simple screen replacement. I would not recommend this service to others.

      I'm sorry to hear that your repair services took longer than expected. It's difficult to go without a critical piece of tech, and I apologize for the inconvenience that this caused you.

      We expect our Agents to follow the Terms & Conditions of your Geek Squad Protection Plan (https://goo.gl/cDfRu9). While I can't be certain without reviewing your Service Order, it sounds like it is possible that the parts required to complete your repair were not available. Per the Terms & Conditions of your plan, this would entitle you to an exchange for similar technology or store credit to apply towards a new purchase. My understanding is that it is correct that this would fulfill your plan, which would mean that you would need to purchase a new plan to have protection on the new device. I'm sorry for any confusion that occurred during your service, and if the Terms & Conditions of your plan were not made clear to you earlier.

    Protect your tech

    Definitely a must if you buying expensive tech and have children. Having to pay full price all over again because you didn't get a warranty isn't a lesson you want to learn the hard way.

    I took in my Mac M1 to try and get some drivers for my printer that I had purchased for my wife and the members who helped me had no idea what do. I was very disappointed

    I always get the protection, but rarely need it. it is always piece of mind knowing my device can/will be fixed if it is damaged in the final hour of a warranty.

    Computer issues

    I had a computer issue and the man that helped me seemed to be confused and had to ask questions from other employees, then I had to leave my computer with them and my box that I left with them with my computer in it was thrown away when I returned to pick it up, not to mention they had my computer for like over 2 months. I had to go into the store and ask about my computer as it had been so long and they checked in the back and my computer was ready, but no one had ever called me to tell me and I had to miss out on a school term since I had no computer.

    I have not had to use the Geek Squad or the protection yet so I can't really speak on this. But I have not had an issue with my purchase so I guess that is a good thing.

    Absolutely dissatisfied. Horrible service; I bought a $1200 laptop and when opened later found out it was dented. Contacted geeksquad to see if they can replace it or fix it for me and they said they couldn’t do anything for me.

    I bought this to support the HP laptop we just purchased. I normally don't buy extended warranties, but laptops are fragile creatures so I felt it was a good investment. I won't really be able to evaluate the purchase until/unless I make a claim.

    Geek Squad coverage is completely worth it to protect your devices. On this purchase, however, I returned the device and can’t figure out how to get a refund on the protection.

    I purchased the extra protection to go with my son's new computer. Thankfully, we did not need to utilize the service. It was comforting to know if something should go wrong, we had a back up plan.

    Thinking twice next time

    I bought this 3 year plan with my laptop 2 years ago. I brought it in today with a totally black screen. The girl that was helping me told me that repairs are not covered since they could do them in house and not have to ship my laptop out. She also told me that if I spilled something on it, it would have been sent out, and been covered. (Next time I will just say that I spilled something on it.) She said it would be a $100 diagnostic charge plus any repairs parts and labor done. I told her to get a supervisor as I paid almost $500 and didn't see why I should have to pay for the repair. The supervisor came over and said that only software or tech issues are not covered. Any hardware is, and therefore my repair is totally covered. He also said they had to send it out and it would be a minimum of 4 weeks for the repair. After today I would have to think twice before buying the plan again.
