    I hadI have very specific with Cheeks for Art in the pan how when my son was ready to use his issue with his warranty want to hear the fire so I never got a chance he would probably be for

    Geek squad laptop warranty

    I find that for the most part having an extended warranty is a good thing. You pay extra upfront but in the long run it saves you money on repairs. If they need to send it out it takes forever to get it back sometimes, that the drawback.

    This protection is a scam! My laptop broke, Geek Squad service failed to fix it, Best Buy refused to provide same model replacement, because it cost more now. I was issued the discounted price of the laptop back to store credit, that is not enough to buy same laptop in Best Buy now, and I lost $200 that I paid for 3 years of Geek Squad service!

    Best Buy is to busy and crowed to get the help you need. You will spend an hour in there just waiting to get help from a associate.

    I used GS before on my laptop to get repairs done to the screen. When I received my laptop I noticed the speakers(HarmonKardon) weren't no where near comparable then when I sent them out.

    Haven’t had to use them yet so I can’t give a review right now. We used them in the past but wasn’t really happy with the outcome & don’t feel it was helpful.

    So far so good, will need to wait a few more years to see if this service is worth it. One possible issue is that the will have your computer for a few weeks while they repair it

    Don't do it guys. This warranty isn't worth it. They make it seem like they'll cover just about anything but they absolutely won't. I got a gash in the shell of my laptop so I took it into Best Buy and they sent it to the warranty company only for it to get sent back to me with a paper saying it's not covered. They had my laptop for almost two weeks only to not fix it. BestBuy accepted the laptop knowing what the problem was and they still sent it off to this company telling us it would be covered. Both of these companies wasted my time. Apparently they don't cover what they call cosmetic damage even though this scratch is actually a gash into my laptop shell. I won't be buying any warranties from BestBuy in the future now that I've realized they are just a con for more money.

    No computer repair yet

    Dropped computer on power button and didnt want to start anymore. Dropped off computer on 5/30 and was told it would take around 2 weeks to repair. On the tracking status is showed computer did not get to repair center until 6/11 where the part was ordered. Computer needed an agent to be assigned for repair on 6/13. And no status since then. No idea when I will get it back. Good thing I dont need it for work or otherwise I would be way more frustrated.

      Hi laura – I’m sorry it is taking longer than expected to get your computer repaired. It sounds like there may be a delay in getting a needed part. Please give your local store a call at the number listed on your service order so they can check into this and hopefully get you an update.

    Was bery friendly amd explained everything clearly. However i had 2 pay a 1 time fee of 199$because they said it was a software issue. Which is NOT covered under 3 yr protection plan

    Not a fan of this peace at mind they sale you. I had a repair done on my daughters gaming laptop (the repair was for the screen not the battery.) when we got it back we plugged it in worked great okay awesome. Well she leaves it plugged in normally but one day we wanted to have a bring your system in the living room family gaming night she unplugged it and it shut off it would not turn back on. Unless the power cord was plugged in. took it back asap it happed to be the posted date it”expired”. they said it was already expired and I’m out of luck unless I wanted to pay their repair prices.I called the customer service line they seemed to careless. It’s my fault for not checking their work that’s why I say there is no peace at mind in it. I have 8 kids so I would normally buy the protection plan but not anymore no thank you.

    Not too sure yet how i feel about purchasing this protection plan. I do have rest of mind knowing that my equipment is protected but I hope it's worth the 300 i spent on two years.

    Poor Repair Process/ Excusatory Language

    Purchased for my laptop. The in-store Geek Squad folks are nice enough, you can set an appointment, they will attempt to repair in store first which can be a fast turn around if your issue is fixable. If not, they send it off to a repair center...this is where it falls apart...I brought mine in for a bad microphone on my laptop and it is a 2 month turn around. The in store group said "HP used a low quality microphone that does not pickup human voices, only high pitched clicks and claps, and this is not a defect, just an engineering design flaw on HP's part". If we send it off, you will likely get the same answer and not a repair since HP used a poor quality microphone. If you are hard on your items and break them then this might be for you, but this was a waste of $350.00 for me to have purchased this. I am still going to send it off but will not have a work laptop for 2 months as result which is a big deal given what I do for work. Should have bought a MacBook.

    Poor Communication Skills

    I would not recommend using Geek Squad for electronic repairs. I paid extra for the protection plan and when I eventually had to use it, it was a nightmare. They kept my computer for over a month (though I was told it would take no more than 2 weeks total), could never get a straight answer from anyone on the status of my computer, and eventually ended up having to spend an hour on the phone with customer service to get them to give me an authorization code so that I could just get an exchange. It seemed like every time I talked to anyone in customer service they were just making up stories as to what was going on with my computer. I'll never pay for this service again.

    Major Hassle

    It took me 30 days, numerous phone calls, and much consternation to use this "Service". Softdrink was spilled on the keyboard and boom, no more laptop. The first person I talked to told me that because of COVID, they were not servicing Chromebooks, just "real" laptops. My experience went down from there. 30 days without the laptop top, uh, pretend? computer that is/was used for school. Extremely poor customer service.

    Poor customer service - no one can update

    I dropped my computer off for repair and it took a week to even ship to the repair facility. I have been trying to get an update after it was supposed to have been returned and no one can provide me an update. I have spent hours on with customer service and they claim that they can only escalate and it takes days to get a response...no one can call Geek Squad city for an update. We now have been without our computer for 4 weeks. I wish I did not purchase this and used a local vendor for repairs.

    I haven’t used geek squad because I tried to reach out and they said they couldn’t help me and now we are in quarantine and I don’t know what to do because my protection is running out soon
