    I guess if you need it, mostly if your buying for a kid. I gave two stars because i hate the best buy i bought everything at bear valley location in apple valley ca store ruined it for me with all best buys.

    The employee's Laptop was less than 2 years old and used for work. Best Buy refused to replace it and said it would be sent off for 3-5 weeks for repair due to a internal factory-installed software issue. Best Buy has lost us as a customer after spending 10's of thousands of dollars in company IT equipment. The Manager refused to honor the protection plan and issue a credit or replacement.

    No loaner be prepared to not have a computer!

    They refused to give me a loaner laptop after they had to send my laptop to a repair facility. I am going a long time without a laptop. Buy from another store that has a better warranty plan! They also made me purchase a new hard drive use to guarantee I would have my data. Probably the worst plan you could get! I have been a long time customer of Best Buy but was disappointed this time. It’s a shame that there customer service is so lacking.

    Purchases this for my son’s computer and after only 11 months it does not work. I made an appt with Geek Squad and was told software not covered/ only hardware. Seriously I’m so mad! $1000 on a computer and $200 for geek squad.

    Not worth the money when you have to schedule an appointment just to leave the product with them and then wait up to a month for repair. I don't know of anyone that can be without their laptop for even days, let alone weeks. Very dissatisfied with this purchase. They don't mention any of this when they sell you the plan. Also, they said i'd receive the details of the plan to my email after purchase, but i never did.

    I truly can’t recommend this service. Laptop bought new 2 months ago for covid school for my 5 yo. Zoom camera went out. It will take 4 weeks to fix. That’s not really acceptable when it’s basically in use daily. My only other option is to buy another laptop and then possibly return this one. The only reason to choose Best Buy is for service. Now there is no reason.

    Perfect your stuff, the accidental does and will happen. But note that if you return the item you will get a prorated money back, not the full amount so they rob you!

    Geek squad is very rude and unwilling to offer any advice unless you spend money. Even a simple question that requires no touching of computer they refuse to answer unless you pay for it.

    I was upsold the coverage. Now 1.5 years later need to use it, of course, it is the biggest hassle and I keep getting a laptop "repaired" but it comes home and is still broken but worse. No offer to replace the broken laptop and it seems they are just trying to outwait the protection plan. Wish I had saved the money to put towards a new laptop.

    Bought Lenovo laptop which came with 1 year manufacturers warranty, which had same coverage as Geek squad. Was led believe from the ad, geek squad was a second year. NOT SO.

    Bought laptop for sister (in Florida). I came back to MD and she had some issues so I told her to take it to Best Buy, Geek Squad. She called me and said they wanted $40 to help. She refused and left.
