Three year plan for a reasonable price gives me piece of mind for my lab top purchase

Always purchase the service agreement on a laptop. Especially the protection against accidents

BestBuy is the go to place to buy electronics. I always get the protection plans from BestBuy. Life happens and it is always nice to GS for those unfortunate electronic mishaps. BestBuy protection plans are worth the extra money. BUT GeekSquad failed me this time. I took my 6 month old chromebook in for a cracked screen. And the results were very unsatisfying. Easy to setup appointment and fast service vice taking it in. GS sent the chromebook out for repair. About 2 weeks later I received a call that the chrome back was back in the store. But the monitor/screen would not display anything. The GS team member stated he could only see when connected to an external display. I was given a choice to send it back again for repair or get a refund to purchase another Chromebook. The exact same Chromebook is now $200 more than when I purchased mine. So send back for repair again was really only choice. A other week later I get a call the Chromebook is back and ready to be picked up. The GS team member turns on the Chromebook and the display works, success. BUT I take it home give it to my daughter who uses it for school. She opens it and starts checking it out and then asks why her touch screen doesn't work anymore. What? And then she points out that the rubber pieces that sit on the table top are missing. The Chromebook was sent two times for repair. Now I have to take it back to the store, and see what they can do for me now. Luckily the school year is almost over, and she can stop borrowing a chromebook daily from the front office of her school.

About six months into having my laptop the touch screen as well as the pen stylist stopped working, A year and a half after the purchase I started having problems with the screen freezing up on me. It went for repair with geek squad twice. Afterwhich I was able to return the laptop because it was within two years of me purchasing it. Thank goodness I had Geek Squad!

Traveling quite a bit and knowing we have the safety this warranty provides is comforting.

You never know what a kid might do to a device . I feel good knowing it’s covered for 3 years .

My hard drive crashed on March 27th, I called for service and was told a box would arrive in a couple days. It didn’t so I called back after being on hold and having a rep call me back I was told the same thing a box would be sent out. Guess what no box showed up so I called this pst a Wednesday April 8th. I spent 4-5 hrs trying to get through to someone my call was answered twice but they picked the phone up and hung it up(Very Professional) . Each time I had to start the process over hence the 4-5hrs wasted of my day. The rep assured me I would have a box at my door in 24-72hrs that would be by the end of the day today is 72hrs guess what no box. I need this laptop so I can work from home and not take the risk of contracting Covid 19. We are three weeks in and I can’t even get a box sent to my house to return a item that I purchased the warranty on. So now I need to escalate this to whoever is next in the chain because nothing is being done with my case # 251350862.

Purchasing protection policies are a must especially for electronics.
