    Who Has 5-6 Months to Wait?

    From day one this laptop has been giving me problems turning on. Only bought it because Best Buy guaranteed Dell would replace it if there was a problem within 30 days of the purchase (they didn't tell me that meant from the date Best Buy purchased it). My last purchase was also faulty. Best Buy wouldn't stand by the product even though it was purchased 15 days prior. Dell gave me the run around in a call center that took over the better part of my day, each person giving me a different story but in the end told me I could ne get a replacement. Even though I purchased a 1 year warranty with Best Buy they don't; have anyone who can fix it in less the 5-6 months, I made an appointment with Geek Squad and arrived early but after asking me what was wrong with it and asking if I had dropped it gave the computer back to me saying there was nothing they could do without ever having opened the box. I was patient for the first several days but AFTER LOSINF ALMOST $1000 poor products and service from Best Buy, and Dell I'm realizing that this is a problem for the State and the Better Business Bureau.

    I purchased for my niece for Christmas 2022 and by May 2023 it would not power up, so I took it to have it repaired under the accident plan I purchased and GS sent it out for repair and when It came back I took it to my niece and it still would not power on. I took it rightback to best buy/GS and they took it back, this was right before the store closed and they were going to replace it but could not find one as close in value even spoke with the supervisor of GS that night he told me he could not authorize the replacement that the Best Buy store manager, Bob will have to approve it (he had alreay went home). The supervisor at GS gave me a card with store credit I told him I just want a replacement per the warranty I purchased not a store credit. He assured me that I will not have an issue with getting it replaced. I called Best Buy the very next day asked to speak with Bob no answer left message. Bob called me back told me that he would not approve the replacement, so I told him just send the computer back out to be repaired he placed me on hold and eventually came back and told me that they no longer have the computer it was sent to be destroyed. So now I have a store credit, no computer and the GS plan that I paid for was worthless. I don't want to ever shop at Best Buy Savannah Ga due to how I was treated when I paid for a protection plan for an Item they no longer support or sell and they would not replace or repair the computer. Don't purchase the plan. I told Bob how would a lawyer feel about not providing me with a replacement or repair for the computer I purchased with a PROTECTION PLAN. He stated if I talk lawyers he can no longer speak with me and I would need to call the corporate office. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

    Title says it all. I turned in my laptop for a quarterly check up on December 3rd, 2020 at which point the realized that my warranty would cover the battery and motherboard. It is now December 28th, 2020, and that the last update from Best Buy says that it has been assigned to an agent over 5 days ago. I completely understand that due to the holidays and the coronavirus that services may be delayed, but the Geek Squad member at the Smyrna, GA location said I should have it within two weeks. If you want service which does NOT inform you of the status of the repair or provide any timeline and agenda in getting your device repaired, look no further than your very own Geek Squad. I have called Geek Squad’s customer service line to investigate this, but all the individual could say was that it was assigned to an agent. I use this laptop for work reasons, and I have been using someone else’s for the time being. The lack of communication from Geek Squad and the absence of my laptop has affected my work performance, and to say that I am frustrated about this service is an understatement. If I knew that it would take over a month to repair with exceptional lack of communication, I would’ve risked the longevity of the parts and paid the manufacturer of my computer for the repairs. Terrible service, and the Geek Squad team HAS to do a better job on this.
