    At this point at least 12 man hours have been spent attempting to get to the correct person to resolve how to even use a protection plan issue. As this letter is being typed, the other customer who had been on the phone with agents for nealry 45 minutes was transferred back to the start menu! A full week ago, we had gone through this before and were told a box to ship our laptop to the nearest store was being sent. It never arrived and agents looking at the account clearly do not see notes about it. The product (laptop) only worked for 2 weeks before it broke. It has been 2 weeks since then and this customer is still unable to get it repaired. We missed the deadline for a full refund, should have called sooner. We now have to drive 344 miles and cross a toll bridge for a repair. This will take at least 2 days of man hours on the customers end. Clearly, as customers, our time is worth negative money. We are loosing so much time and money dealing with this issue, that we have lost money by purchasing this plan. Please do not put yourself in this situation. If you do not live near a Best Buy, you can not use their repair plan.

    More expensive than needs to be and is very deceptive. Apparently you CAN extend the warranty on a laptop through the manufacturer (ie: HP, Dell)

    I bought this 3 year plan with my laptop 2 years ago. I brought it in today with a totally black screen. The girl that was helping me told me that repairs are not covered since they could do them in house and not have to ship my laptop out. She also told me that if I spilled something on it, it would have been sent out, and been covered. (Next time I will just say that I spilled something on it.) She said it would be a $100 diagnostic charge plus any repairs parts and labor done. I told her to get a supervisor as I paid almost $500 and didn't see why I should have to pay for the repair. The supervisor came over and said that only software or tech issues are not covered. Any hardware is, and therefore my repair is totally covered. He also said they had to send it out and it would be a minimum of 4 weeks for the repair. After today I would have to think twice before buying the plan again.

    I haven't used this, but it does give me some peace of mind since my original laptop that I purchased direct from HP was dead on arrival.

    Not a fan of this peace at mind they sale you. I had a repair done on my daughters gaming laptop (the repair was for the screen not the battery.) when we got it back we plugged it in worked great okay awesome. Well she leaves it plugged in normally but one day we wanted to have a bring your system in the living room family gaming night she unplugged it and it shut off it would not turn back on. Unless the power cord was plugged in. took it back asap it happed to be the posted date it”expired”. they said it was already expired and I’m out of luck unless I wanted to pay their repair prices.I called the customer service line they seemed to careless. It’s my fault for not checking their work that’s why I say there is no peace at mind in it. I have 8 kids so I would normally buy the protection plan but not anymore no thank you.

    Thank fully haven't had to use the protection. Bought as an insurance policy. I know from past experiences that the Geek Squad support and packages are hit or miss...

    I expect more from a name like Geek Squad but over the years, this service has become less impressive. It's always such a mission to get anything done in a convenient or timely manner. The customer service is often abysmal and during the pandemic this was altogether useless. Unless you get a full new replacement, this a kind of a pain to bother with.

    When purchased I was led to believe that my laptop was fully covered. However does not covered problems caused by software

    Absolutely dissatisfied. Horrible service; I bought a $1200 laptop and when opened later found out it was dented. Contacted geeksquad to see if they can replace it or fix it for me and they said they couldn’t do anything for me.

    Don’t really need the protection plan for a year because it’s not worth it, but it maybe if you get the 3 year plan

    Always good to make sure you get INS. but i wish they were included sometimes over a certain amount spent. Sure I'm not the only one who thinks it.
