    Good peace of mind for any damages. The negative thing is they have to send your computer off to get your new battery which can take 2 to 3 weeks.

    Overall, I am so annoyed having paid for this service. Disclaimer, I also wrote a shorter, separate review based on my husband's experience; we have the same laptop with the same 2-year coverage, but this review is different. Side note on my husband's experience: he got charged just under $100 because they couldn't fix the problem in store. I don't see why we paid for this if we'll still get charged so much. As for my laptop, sadly this protection plan has shown to be TOTALLY useless. My (still less than 2 years old, made for gaming, almost a grand on sale) laptop has constant connectivity issues. It seems the wireless card is bad because it improves greatly when hardwired in (my husband's [same series, slightly better specs] also has said problems). In addition, my laptop has very slow startup time. I have run antivirus programs (e.g. Windows Defender, Malware Bytes) and cleared up my start-up programs, as well as had my BIL that's a computer software engineer take a look at it. Sadly, it continues to show problems running. I finally got around to bringing it in to Geek Squad, under this protection plan, with the hopes of a resolution. On the contrary, nothing was done to help. I was told until they could verify it's not a software issue they can do nothing to help. To do that I would have to pay a $150 check-in fee (or $200 if I want to sign up for this separate plan). Apparently, this plan [being reviewed] solely covers hardware issues and since this may be a software issue (which you need a separate plan for), they wouldn't even humor me in trying to help. This may be contributed to by a software issue (I'm tech savvy, but no expert), but the wireless issues appear to be a hardware issue, especially considering how long they have been going on for across both laptops with improvement if ethernet is plugged in. Regardless, when buying my laptop and agreeing to add on this plan, I was naiive and not made aware that there were different plans and that this wouldn't actually help me in such a case. I would honestly love if someone on here replies to help me out, because I'm annoyed by this issue and (though I have almost always used BestBuy in the past) a bit turned off from returning for service. Full disclosure, we have and still do use BestBuy since we have the credit card, but maybe we'll take our business to NewEgg for the next set of laptops, since these were a bust and apparently can't even be fixed. All in all, every rep I have worked with at our location has been very nice and appear to want to be helpful. I get that insurance only works because, out of everyone who pays, some people don't use it and some do, but still, this plan feels like a ripoff. One person who helped me even commented how they seem to fail to explain the difference in [hardware vs. software] plans... Probably because it's just about the money for them.
