    Geek squad info not consistent with sales staff.

    Agents at geek squad desk were brusk and not particularly friendly. I was told by the sales person that the transfer of data from my old machine would only be 1 day. Geek squad said it would be 5 days. They need to be consistent. They also did not fully describe what would and would not be transferred. It took me several days to get my new computer working as well as my old one.

    This is totally worth buying!!! Best Buy stands 100% behind the geek squad service. I’ve had to use them several times and it more than pays for itself!!!

    This is the most important product purchased. It is a must have for any big tech or appliance purchase. The ease of customer service and effectivity makes it a no-brained!

    It makes sense to purchase the protection. You purchase insurance for your car, your house, your appliances, so why wouldn't you for your electronic devices that you use every day?

    Not too happy with the Geek Squad process

    I purchased an "Open Box" computer. When it was delivered, it hadn't been "programmed" for the next user. It still had the last owners information on it. I wasn't able to log in and register it for myself. When I called about it, I was told to bring it back to Best Buy. The process took them about 30+ minutes or more. When they were done, I was told, "Okay, we won't charge you".???? Why would I be charged for something that should've alread been done?

    After finding out later that coverage varies on the item, I'm a little annoyed by the process. In the past, I was able to get items repaired or credit for the value of the current price. Now the protocol is if they can't repair it, then literally send out for a used one ( that they keep correcting me and calling it "refurbished"... Which is is literally used). If I wanted a used item,I would've just bought it. Then they tell me it's been certified and guaranteed... Cool... But now I have to wait 2 weeks for it to come in so I'm without my product, when you could just give me the current value and I can upgrade, buy a new one and pay the difference... Like you used to do. DON'T GET ME WRONG, they are still great to have, but I kinda don't like the whole refurbished part, unless you opt for it. OR EVEN BETTER SUGGESTION, BEST BUY SHOULD ORDER THE REFURBISHED ITEM, REMOVE THE PART I NEED AND PUT IT IN MY ITEM, SEND THE BROKEN PART, WITH THE REFURBISHED ITEM, BACK TO WHERE EVER THEY GOT IT AND SAY "REPAIRED" AND PROBLEM SOLVED. I like my plan better.

    Bestbuy/geek squad sold me a computer which brand they said they could not work under, yet still offered geek squad protection. When my CPU was hit by the INTEL i9 software issue that burned out CPUs I took my PC to my local bestbuy and the local Geek squad essentially told me to pound sand. They said they can't work on PCPower builds. My question? Why sell me geek squad protection on a product they can't work on?
