I went into this with a pretty well established idea that they were going the thriller/slow-burn route. That's pretty much the route they took, but the acting (aside from Goodman) wasn't really up to the task. While a departure from the 1st person view was a welcome change, the absence of a dynamic soundtrack was not. The first film had plenty of LFE and enough dynamic range to keep your attention. While this film doesn't have the action of the first, there could have been a lot done to the audio/score to keep us from losing interest. Ultimately, I am giving this film 2 stars. It would be a 1-star, but I am going to watch it again to give it another shot. The fact that it isn't SO bad that it doesn't get a shot at redemption nets it a 2. If you get frustrated by watching films in which the characters make poor-to-terrible decisions, stay away from this one. Goodman carries a lot of it, but there are so many things going on that don't fit the narrative of what they are, seemingly, trying to portray it comes off as distracting vs immersive. Like I said, I'm giving it another shot, but I can see this one getting donated.

This is a good movie and it looks good on blu ray. The movie has great build up and makes you wonder what is really going on? Definitely more for fans of scifi type movies.

What a awesome deal i was able to get this movie for on Black Friday. Best Buy always give great pricing on there products. I do not shop at any store for my DVD movies.

Not particularly related to the original Cloverfield except in name, but it's full of great performances and high tension.

I heard about this movie when it first popped up, about three months before it came out in theaters. The movie itself is great and the Blu ray disc itself is nice as well.

John Goodman is the main reason to see this movie, but it's fun and creepy scary in every way. It's like a great modern Twilight Zone episode that keeps you guessing.

10 Cloverfield Lane is honestly one of the best B-Movies ever made in my opinion. Great acting, the suspense was killer. Like a great episode of The Twilight Zone!

An intense movie from start to finish with excellent characters and performances by each of the three main leads. It's the most fun I've had watching a movie all year.

You can't go wrong with a mix of villiany and aliens. The ending reminded me of how the first Terminator movie ended.

This movie was not what I expected from the title. Thought it might be a slasher type movie but it was highly recommended so I bought it. Really liked this movie
