In a world where network security is often violated, it's understandable that one would be cautious about where you put your card information; as shown in the Sony Network hacking incident. The Nintendo eShop card gives you a great alternative to giving out your credit card information. It's also a great way to be able to give your children funds for the eShop to purchase smaller games, instead of full price retail ones; or unique experiences that are only available on the eShop. In general, it's a marketplace that is only getting better via the addition of content weekly both in terms of new experiences and retro Virtual Console titles. I highly recommend you give the eShop a try via purchasing a card!

I don't like using my credit card for the E-Shop and this pre-paid card does the job. I usually pick it up in person to avoid shipping fees.

The card is pretty self explanitory. You prepay the said amount on the card in store/online and you are able to transfer to either the 3DS or WiiU Nintendo eShop. If you don't feel comfortable entering your credit card or only deal with cash, this is the purchase for you. Heads up though, it whichever system you use it for is only for that system. If you redeem one for WiiU it doesn't transfer to the 3Ds.

By this point, I would hope that you all know what a prepaid card does so I won't explain that portion. The $10 Nintendo eShop cards come with a detachable card of the character on the cover for use with a free game called Photos With Mario The First Three (Mario, Daisy and Goomba) were released universally. The second wave was a mess Bowser is a Gamestop exclusive, Koopa Troopa is a Best buy Exclusive and Luigi is a Target exclusive.

I prefer to use the Nintendo Cards for Purchases, so I can keep track of how much I am spending. It is too easy to lose track if you have a credit card on file instead. Best way to limit spending for yourself and especially for kids. Great for downloading games instead of going out to purchase them, especially retro games.

This is a pretty simple product, but it worked as stated. Very convenient and it saves you the risk of having to supply your credit card info to Nintendo's network directly. PLEASE be aware this card only works on the 3DS and Wii U systems, NOT the Nintendo DS/DS Lite/DSi OR the original Nintendo Wii. Great product though!

A benefit is that it avoids having to use a credit card, while one minor drawback is the slight inconvenience of having to scratch off for the code. Plus these are even more useful given that Nintendo now lets the funds be used towards both Wii U and 3DS games. Also a great deal when on sale!
