    Apple official store rarely have sales. Buying apple gift card at a discount or with some other incentive such as getting a free $10 Bestbuy gift card is the next best thing. If I need to buy a device from the apple store that I can’t get elsewhere such as a mac with an odd configuration, I would use apple gift cards purchased at a discount.

    Digital giftcard. I'm not sure if merging everything into one Apple gift card is a good thing or bad thing--I used to get more deals on iTunes gift cards--but this is good enough. They have some safeguards in place to make redeeming these gift cards a little more secure. Bonus: if you open the gift cards on your iPhone, it'll try to automatically redeem it once you open it.
