A MUST OWN FILM for all movie buffs. The "one-shot" camera techniques blew me away. Trying to identify the "cuts" is part of the reasons to watch this amazing cinema experience over and over again. The planning, prep and execution are remarkable accomplishments. 1917 was a favorite film in 2020; a year with so many fabulous films like Parasite and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

A unique take on war, effective representation on the difficulties and sacrifices that soldiers went through during war.Amazing picture quality with enough tense moments to make you shiver. One of the best movies of the last decade and Roger deakins cinematography is absolutely sublime just like his previous efforts in sicario and blade runner 2049. A must own disc

Not sure how Parasite beat this out for best film of the year. This is one of the greatest war movies of all time, it's right up there with Saving Private Ryan, Apocolypse Now and some of the other top war films. Beyond that the cinematography alone is out of this world. The way this film was shot is incredible and watching it in 4K HDR is a thing of beauty. Best film of 2020 in my eyes, hands down.

"1917" definitely keeps the viewer engaged throughout the movie. Similar to "Saving Private Ryan," the story follows two characters on a mission, and the artistry of the performance keeps the viewer on the edge of his or her seat. I had the pleasure of seeing the movie on the big screen, which added to the intensity, but even on the smaller screen, "1917" delivers!

This is a movie that I feel is in the vein of Saving Private Ryan. It takes place as a command to get through areas of known battle areas to help alert and save people. Great acting, but the way it was filmed is the true reason to watch this movie. The 4K version of this film added a certain emotional feel to the movie and felt like it played a supporting role in the story. Definitely a must own.

This was one of the best films released in 2019 and watching it on 4k is phenomenal. The crispness as you watch the characters traverse the country side is incredible. The sound envelopes you and really brings you into the film. The extras included were also great. Was really interesting to watch how the sets were created and was cool to see the difficulty involved in the cinematography.

1917 is far and away the best movie of the last year. The cinematography and story created a completely immersive experience. This picture did a great job of showing the grittiness of WWI. Even though the story is fiction it gives some great insight into what the great war was like physically and emotionally. I can not say enough great things about this picture. Buy it and buy it in 4K.

I really enjoyed this movie and the 4k looks immaculate. Being filmed digitally the image is pristine and would serve as demo material for any home theater setup. The film itself is really good too. Deakins cinematography is once again something to behold and the editing choice for the one shot look give this film an interesting take on the war genre. A simple story but executed very well.

This 1917 Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc was purchased online with a curbside pickup delivery. The item was delivered to my car with 10 minutes of my store arrival making the whole purchase process quick and hassle free. The picture quality, color and sound are all impressive and as a result, coupled with the smooth purchase/pickup, made for a pleasant buying experience.

Theres a lot of people that say this movie is "boring".. I honestly believe are the people that love the fast and the furious franchise..dont get me wrong..i also enjoy those myself..very over the top..things make no sense..and so on..anyways..this movie is such a thrill ride..the build up is spot on..the art of it is flawless..def my top 1,2 or 3 of war movies ever made..flawless movie..

Some saw this film as a bit of a gimmick. But it is a true gem. Telling the story in this manner was a bold choice and the filmmakers truly challenged themselves by doing so. I feel I get more out of it and appreciate the technical achievement the more times I watch it. Presented here in 4K with HDR and Dolby Atmos, it is a reference-level presentation. Highly recommended.

Great movie, we all know that. I mainly want to talk about picture quality since that's what I focus on when getting 4k movies. The picture is great and is native 4k, unlike other "4k" movies that just upscale to 4k and don't look right. This movie excels in picture quality and looks great.

If you read reviews of this 4K Blu-ray on various websites, you will find it referred to as "reference quality" audio and video. I strongly agree - this is the best 4K movie in my collection. The special features include great audio commentary from Sam Mendes and the "making of" featurette is excellent.

What a great movie......I have been looking for movies about WW1.....mind blowing how this movie was filmed as a series of continuous shots. The documentary explains how this was done. Something Alfred Hitchcock had some success with his movie Rope. This movie is basically foot soldiers and the battlefields and the hell they go thru. One of the best movies of all time-1917

Incredible movie and a must watch. It's a war movie that's not really a war movie, so it appeals to many. The directing and photography is incredible/ground breaking and the music is also phenomenal. They hit this one out of the park. Make sure you watch the extras after the movie. Seriously worth the time.

This movie has revived my interest in The Great War, to the point I’ve begun researching many available sites for further information. The movie was based on real events and was so excellently done that at no point are you not fully engrossed. I really recommend this movie even for those who are not history buffs (although it might help to make you one).

Awesome war movie from a different perspective,the sights and feel of a World War One movie,it made me feel like I was actually in the movie,it gripped me the whole movie,the story could have had a more convincing ending,it’s like nothing was accomplished as far as changing the course of the war,the story was rather weak,but it was a beautiful movie

1917 is one of the more harrowing films I've seen in years, and the home presentation on UHD Blu-ray is no exception. The clarity of its audio mix is dynamic and punchy and its diverse color palette literally shines with the inclusion of Dolby Vision encoding. A highly recommended disc that is just as suspenseful and sensational as 1917's theatrical presentation.

This SteelBook has a beautifully minimalist design that I love. Glossy finish, pure black background, the numerals "1917" slightly debossed on the front (not on the back) with rich color coming through. I won't quibble too much with the lack of variety on the art between the front cover and the back. It looks great and feels like a premium product.
