Roger Deakins is definitely one of the best cinematogrephers that exist nowadays. This 4K transfer is without one of the best looking blurays out there. I'd wish they kept the IMAX format but I know its not ideal if you want the widescreen presentation to get the full picture. Nonetheless, I still recommend this purchase.

There are so many WWII movies that it is refreshing to get one set in WWI. While not the greatest story or most interesting characters, this movie is heavily carried by its cinemetography and the illusion of being just one continuous shot. For that alone I highly recommend people to check this out!

The movie makes you feel like you are also in the war zone. On par with other great war movies such as Private Ryan. Beginning to end on the edge of your seat ride. Some of the war scenes show the horrors of war. Story has been relayed with lots of passion with the main characters really playing their roles to perfection.

When we went to go see this in theaters we were on the edge of our seats. The movie kept us so engaged and the theater was as quiet as I’ve ever seen with everyone focused on the masterpiece what is known as 1917. The cinematography and sound design are something to behold! No brainer we had to buy this when it came out.

1917 takes an obvious great twist on how to visually tell a war story with respect to camera viewpoints and shots/cuts. The focus on one or two characters was refreshing and allowed greater understanding and insight into human nature. As the "war to end all wars", this movie stands as the WW1 movie for all WW1 movies.

Not only did I love the story, but I felt like I was there. It also was more than just bloody shots of random people getting killed left and right in many was films I've seen. But the main reason for all the stars...it gives the appearance that it was filmed in one continuous shot. Pretty amazing stuff!!!

Saw "1917" in the theaters and could not wait for it's release on 4k. My family and I enjoyed the historical aspect of the film, as well as the non-stop excitement and drama. The cinematography was amazing, as were the scenes, imagery, and everything related to this epic World War 1 movie. Great job!

All I can say is wow. I had no expectations going in and was completely blown away. The amount of cinematic technique that was deployed throughout the film was amazing. It was for real an edge of seat thrill to watch in the theater. Definitely a no brainer to take a copy home.

This film was done incredibly well and though I cannot imagine even remotely being there and going through what any of those men had to go through, I can only assume is extremely accurate. Though graphic at times, as one would assume given the subject matter, well worth the purchase and the time to watch. Enjoy!!

1917 should have one the Academy Award for Best Picture. It did win for Cinematography. This 4k presentation will reveal why it won in this category. Brings into focus the horror of Trench Warfare in World War I, combined with a face paced story line.

‘1917’ maintains an illusion of continuous filming of single point-of-view with almost no breaks. (Director Sam Mendes applied this style also to opening of the Bond film ‘Spectre’.) It was publicly successful in that suspense wasn’t hindered. (In fact, special effects seemed more personal.) Though I personally prefer other war films over this one (such as ‘Saving Private Ryan’), I thought the church building scene at night time was an incredible scene. A/V great on 4K!

My choice for Best film of 2019 after Parasite. This film grabs your attention from the start and never lets up. Filmed as if one long take, you follow young WWI British soldiers carrying a message thru enemy lines to stop a massacre. The cinematography is breathtaking. the story is solid. Definitely a must-see.

Picked this up from Best Buy in 2020 on regular blu-ray for something cheap to watch as part of black friday specials. Was surprised at how enjoyable the movie was. The camera angles are unique & help enhance the story. Very good movie experience.

I personally love historical movies. This is a great story set in World War I. The movie is a must watch even for people who may not like this genre. The cinematography and angles shot are brilliant. I don't want get too far into descriptions as everyone needs to go into it without spoilers.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The cinematography is 2nd to none. The style of which it is shot, in a one shot manner takes immersion to another level. I'll come back to this one for years and years.

I was impressed with this movie; the actors did a great job performing all lines and action sequences all in one seamless shot. However while watching this movie I happen to notice the timeline is off and it should of been maybe a 3 hour movie instead of 2 hrs. So that whole story is told.

Wow , if you haven’t seen this then what are you waiting for. My wife doesn’t like war films but man did she love this. It is a master piece of film and a true testament of friendship and the ugliness of war. Something so beautiful belongs in the collection of films. Top 20 in my life.

After seeing this movie at the theater, I knew that I was going to get it as soon as it came out in 4k. While at Best Buy I saw it on sale and got it. I think it is a great WW1 movie and I have watched it a couple of times since buying it. I highly recommend it if you like military movies.

Not a whole lot to say here. I found the storyline fascinating and up tempo. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Can’t truly imagine what if would’ve been like to have to face that kind of adversity. Anyway picture and audio were good but I don’t have a high end audio set up. Loved the 4K steelbook case. Top notch.
